**HOSTESS / STEWARD**:
Job purpose
The Hostess/Steward plays a pivotal role in enhancing the overall experience of club members and guests by providing personalized and attentive service. They are responsible for creating a welcoming atmosphere and ensuring that members and guests feel valued and attended to during their visit to the club.
**Main Activities and Responsibilities**:
- Welcome members and guests upon arrival with warmth and hospitality.
- Escort members and guests to their tables or reserved areas, ensuring their comfort and satisfaction.
- Assist in managing reservations and seating arrangements to optimize table turnover and guest satisfaction.
- Coordinate with the culinary and service teams to ensure timely and efficient food and beverage service.
- Provide recommendations on menu selections and special offerings, showcasing knowledge of the club's offerings.
- Anticipate and respond to guest needs and preferences promptly and courteously.
- Handle inquiries and complaints tactfully and escalate issues to management as necessary.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in the dining and lounge areas, including table setup and décor.
- Assist in organizing and executing special events, parties, and promotions as directed.
- Collaborate with the Head of Receptionists, Reservationists, and Hostesses to uphold service standards and implement improvements.
- Manage other activities relating to or resulting from what is indicated in the previous points.
**Key Competencies**:
**Required Education and Experience**:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in a hospitality or customer service role, preferably in a high-end restaurant, hotel, or club environment.
- Knowledge of dining etiquette and protocol preferred.
- Knowledge of one or more foreign languages (min. fluent in Italian and English).
**General Knowledge and Technical Skills**:
- Basic knowledge of food and beverage service principles.
- Familiarity with reservation systems and point-of-sale (POS) systems.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) is a plus.
- Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
