The Position HOTEL MANAGER Main Purpose :The Hotel Manager is responsible for the day-to-day management of hotel and its staff, assisting and substituting the General Manager.
He/she is passionate of the hospitality business and ambitious to grow professionally. Reports to: General Manager.
Main Responsibilities :• Conduct frequent and thorough inspections of the different hotel operations to ensure service excellence is consistently maintained;• Verify the best products are used in the hotel operation on a regular basis;• Take responsibility for the timely delivery of capital projects within the building to ensure company assets are effectively maintained;• Ensure health, safety, hygiene and other relevant legislative obligations are fulfilled, ensuring the safety and wellbeing of the hotel, guests and colleagues;• Conduct or chair regular communication meetings with department heads and actively participate in relevant business meetings to facilitate effective communication;• Assist to prepare budgets & forecasts;• Stay up-to date with financial results (budget vs actual) and ensure that sales and profit are maximized;• Maintain all hotel records and reports as prescribed by the company and hotel policies and procedures;• Fully understand the market needs and desires for each operation and ensure that the relevant products are developed by the management team;• Be available to meet with Guests and help Department Heads deal with discerning or unsatisfied guests, responding to guest complaints in a timely and empathic manner;• Closely monitor guest feedback, communicate feedback results and make recommendations for improvement;• Assist to recruit and select members of all the departments, who meet the hotel profile and can deliver core competencies;• Mentor and coach Department Heads and encourage them to take responsibility for their own development growth;• Manage performance of all direct reports in line with the company policy, standard and procedures.

Other requirements :• At least 4 years of experience as Operations Manager, Division Manager or Hotel Manager in 5 Star Deluxe Hotels preferably in Europe• Preferable degree in hotel management• Excellent leadership skills• Experience in running multi F&B outlets - front of house, spa and maintenance• Evidence of self-development through courses, conferences, workshops• Knowledge of H&S provisions as per national rules• Good commercial back ground, preferably in the Italian Market and in the segments Tour Operators, MICE and Corporate• Knowledge of Revenue Management• Excellent financial understanding:- Analytical thinking- Experienced in budget and forecast processes- Experienced in balancing expenses and costs vs forecast• Proficiency in English and Italian• Proficiency in a third European language French is preferable.
