H&S Risk Assessment Specialist

**Basic Function**:
The Health and Safety (H&S) Risk Assessment Specialist is responsible to identify and assess the risks to which workers in the Ferrara organization are exposed by means of compiling and updating Risk Assessment documents (DVR), according to Italian Health & Safety Law requirements (D. Lgs.
81/08).
the primary duty of this position is to ensure compliance and compliance with national and corporate health and safety regulations and policies.
Champions GoalZERO behaviors across all employees and contract personnel at the site and driving continuous H&S improvement.
Collaborates to develop and continuously improve the strategy and processes at site to achieve industry leading GoalZERO performance.
Is responsible for implementing strategies and processes at site in collaboration with H&S Risk Assessment Coordinator and Lead of the Prevention and Protection Service (RSPP).
Is designated by the company site management as the person in charge of the safety prevention and protection service (ASPP) to perform the tasks listed in article 33 of D. Lgs.
81/08 (Italian law).
Provides expertise on-call for: confined spaces (as RDLC designated by site management), radiogenic sources verification, incidents and any other Occupational Safety issues.
Conducts informal incidents investigation as required by company standards.
**Roles & Responsibilities**:
**1) DVR (H&S Risk assessment) contribution at site: occupational safety site compliance
Executes DVR - H&S risks assessment process execution at site.
This includes:
- Identifying risk factors of work environments
- Assessment of health and safety risks to which workers are exposed according to regulatory and corporate criteria
- Identification of measures for the safety and health of working environments
- Develop the preventive and protective measures and the monitoring systems for prevention measure
**2) Training & information of workers on H&S Risks
Recommend and execute training programs for workers at site.
Organize and conduct periodic meetings on occupational health and safety protection with union representatives (RLS).
Provide workers with information and training regarding:
- Specific risks to which they are exposed in relation to the activities performed
- Hazards associated with the use of hazardous substances and mixtures
- Prevention and protection measures taken (e. g. , PPE selection).
**3) Safety programs and initiatives at site
Develop and update safety procedures for the discipline.
Ensure effective and sustainable implementation of safety related programs and campaigns at site.
Support site departments and services to drive effective and consistent program development and execution.
**4) Safety networks
Participates actively to corporate activities/ global network of the discipline (H&S), shares best practices, learning form experience and applies continuous improvements ideas at site
**5) Site safety strategy & performance
Monitor and assess local safety performance, identifies and pursue improvement opportunities.
Provide inputs to define the site HSEQT safety strategy.
Interface with site HSEQT colleagues to propose improvement to ensure occupational safety strategies are supported and achieved.
**6) Occupational safety support
Is a positive example for the team and the organization w. r. t.
safety.
Carries out the tasks assigned by national (Italian and European) legislation about health and safety of workers for the prevention and protection (ASPP), as designated by site management.
Takes part to HSEQT call-out team and to crisis management team.
Is available in call-out or based on availability for:
- Coordination of Confined Spaces Risk Assessment and Field support (RDLC, national law) and occupational safety tasks (e. g. , radiogenic sources verification).
- Support for MOCs and other inquiries related to occupational safety matters.
Leads and/or participates to incident classifications related to occupational safety matters and investigations (formal and informal), ensuring follow-up.
Perform, as team leader, informal and formal investigation for incidents.

Qualifications**:
**Education**:
Thinking and communication level equivalent to Degree in engineering or science disciplines.
Master Degree in Safety Engineering or other Safety related disciplines is a plus.
Minimum High School diploma requested.
**Work Experience**:
- Relevant work experience in a complex manufacturing environment;
Experience in the chemical-process industry is a plus;
- Proven experience in one or more of the following: Health & Safety in the workplace, Risk Assessment, Occupational safety, Process safety, Fire prevention, Industrial Hygiene, Plants Operations, Plants Maintenance, Management training;
