AREA OF RESPONSIBILITY The HSE Coordinator will take the lead in prioritizing safety, especially employee safety.

This position is a key liaison between EHS and general operations, engineering, research, and safety.

Develops appropriate safety policies and initiates actions in the workplace Is responsible for the secretariat of the CPBW Initiates and participates in safety and environmental incident investigations and ensures appropriate corrective recommendations and actions are taken Supervises labor inspection, medical inspection, and environmental inspection during company visits Coordinates all mandatory and necessary periodic inspections related to safety, environment, and infrastructure Coordinates regulatory emission measurements and coordinates all aspects related to waste disposal Monitors groundwater abstraction and consumption of city water Monitors wastewater discharges and liaises with VMM Coordinates the resource register and prepares waste declarations Tracks all packaging waste, coordinates the declaration to VAL-I-PAC, and audits by the company auditor Prepares returns and monitors billing for electricity consumption, fuel consumption, water consumption, engine tax, environmental tax, County tax, Water Discharge Tax, cadastral municipal tax, groundwater consumption, Class I Nuisance Facility, and general environmental and safety expenses Supervises industry estimating specialists as appropriate Participates in the continuous improvement process (workshops, team meetings) Contributes to continuous improvement Support in production Training new employees Participation in drawing up maintenance checklists MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES & KEY FUNCTIONS Contributes to continuous improvement within the areas of safety, health, and environment Performs all the legal duties of the environmental coordinator in the company Carries out all the legal assignments of the head of the Committees for prevention and protection at work department Informs and advises the management in connection with all aspects concerning the safety of the employees and the facilities, as well as in connection with all environmental aspects Together with the department heads, draws up the necessary safety instructions and machine descriptions Coordinates First Aid & Safety Training for all personnel Tracks health and safety risks and makes recommendations to the employer Supervises and encourages the occupational health service and makes recommendations to the employer for improvements Prepares and follows up on all aspects of the operating permit Maintains liaison with environmental inspection services Prepares an environmental audit for the Genk site Advises the management in drafting the environmental policy statement Organizes the internal fire department and maintains contacts with the Genk fire department Supervises the fire insurer during company visits and makes recommendations on the matter to the management Cooperates with external services and departmental managers for the preparation of the necessary risk analyses regarding prevention and well-being at work REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE Level A environmental coordinator accreditation Is able to work independently and takes initiative Effective communication at all levels Team player Precise Dynamic Excellent analytical, technological, interpersonal, and communication (written/verbal) skills Ability to lead, direct, develop, and motivate others HOW TO APPLY: Please note that if you are NOT a passport holder of the country for the vacancy you might need a work permit.
