Hse Specialist
What You'll Be Doing Provide HSE support and guidance to the construction and project teams.
Ensure all construction activities are conducted safely and in compliance with the PHSMP, client requirements, statutory regulations, and on-site guidelines.
Review contractors' HSE plans, procedures, and related documents within agreed timelines.
Collaborate daily with Parsons' construction engineers and contractors' HSE representatives on all HSE-related matters.
Attend weekly progress and HSE meetings, as well as contractors' toolbox talks.
Participate in investigations of accidents, incidents, and near-misses related to construction activities, ensuring timely reporting and follow-up actions.
Monitor contractors' work practices to ensure compliance with safety standards.
Conduct daily site walk-throughs, coordinating with the HSE team to address identified issues or concerns.
Implement safety procedures and organize safety awareness campaigns as needed.
Act as an on-site problem solver by providing practical recommendations and suggestions.
Perform site inspections focused on housekeeping, hygiene, fire prevention, welfare facilities, first aid provisions, and safe working practices, with or without checklists.
Ensure all safety systems and equipment are operational, correctly serviced, and in place.
Participate in HSE awareness initiatives and campaigns.
Conduct daily inspections related to health, safety, and environmental aspects, coordinating with contractors to address any issues or non-compliance.
Deliver health and safety induction training to all personnel and visitors.
Maintain safe working conditions for on-site workers.
Monitor and assess hazardous or unsafe situations, reporting them to the HSE Manager.
Assist in investigating incidents, injuries, and hazards, and implement agreed control measures.
Encourage proactive and positive safety behaviors and promote participation in reward and recognition programs.
Required Skills and Qualifications Minimum of 10 years' experience working as an HSE engineer or specialist.
Bachelor's degree with post-graduate professional experience in health and safety.
Recognized HSE qualification, such as NEBOSH International Certificate or equivalent.
Accreditations from organizations such as IOSH or ISO (management systems).
Proven experience in auditing management systems and ensuring compliance with standards and regulations.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills in English.
Proficient IT skills, including Word, Excel, and Power BI.
Desired Skills Experience in blasting or helicopter-assisted lifting operations.
