**POSITION SCOPE
The Human Resources Manager is responsible for the development and implementation of the overall strategy, philosophy, design, and execution of the HR product/service offering for the United Malt Group in the US in conjunction with the North America HR team and the global HR team.
The HR Manager builds and implements talent management strategies across the US to support the overall business strategy and priorities.
The HR Manager will be responsible for managing an HR team focused on developing and implementing attraction/retention strategies, employee and leadership development initiatives, organizational development and performance management objectives, compensation and benefits planning priorities, employee engagement efforts, change management and union relations strategies.
**RESPONSIBILITIES
- Plans, organizes, and coordinates the efforts of the US HR team to work effectively, efficiently, and collaboratively with internal clients throughout the US to support business operations and drive the human resources agenda.
- Provides direction and consultation to management at all levels on strategic, tactical, and operational people issues and human resources needs.
- Oversees development and implementation of strategies, tools, and processes in support of the business in the areas of compensation, benefits, HRIS, compliance, recruitment, onboarding, performance management, union negotiations, change management, and employee engagement.
- Establishes and maintains compensation policies and procedures, job descriptions, grade levels, geographical pay ranges, analytics/reporting, and other compensation related activities.
- Provide advice, training, and support to employees and managers in the areas of performance management, goal setting, performance reviews, coaching, career development and capability development.
- Support the annual compensation review initiative within the budget parameters established by the Board of Directors.
This includes updating the compensation system, establishing timelines, developing communication materials, and partnering with managers to ensure compliance.
- Support the development of market-competitive benefit policies and cost-effective Health and Welfare, and Retirement plans in the US including medical, dental, vision, 401k, defined benefit and defined contribution plans.
Provide support to the business in absence management and leave management.
- Manage relationships with US and Canadian vendors to ensure processes are compliant with all regulations and applicable laws and payments are accurate and timely.
- Support the organization's efforts to manage system configuration, data auditing, system maintenance and quality control for the systems required for Human Capital.
- Develop and maintain policies and procedures for the company in accordance with current priorities and strategy.
- Support and manage the talent acquisition and talent management efforts of the organization to source and retain top talent for the business.
This includes headcount management, recruitment, demographic planning, interviewing, job offer and onboarding.
- Ensure legal compliance by monitoring and implementing applicable human resource federal and state requirements, conducting investigations, maintaining records, and representing the company at required hearings.
- Supports Supervisors/Managers in managing the union/management relationship at our unionized facilities including contract interpretation, grievance handling, investigations, collective bargaining, and performance management.
- Maintain knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.
