Terna is seeking candidates for the role of ICT Monitoring Specialist at its Rome office.

The successful ICT Monitoring Specialist will be responsible for the following activities: Guaranteeing monitoring of the availability and performances of the central and distributed systems, with a particular focus on the following use cases: IoT, Edge Computing, Cloud and containerisation.

Adapting and expanding monitoring controls based on the scope and evolution of the perimeter of the systems and services to be supervised, paying particular attention to the equipment installed in the electrical substations.

Adapting the configurations of monitoring systems to the use needs of the personnel of the Service Control Room, the technical operation and development units, and the TLCs.

Ensuring that the monitoring systems comply with the company security policies.

Interfacing with suppliers for the management of technical support requests regarding monitoring products.

Drawing up technical documentation.

Adapting the architecture of monitoring systems to the changing needs for supervision of ICT services and infrastructure, with particular reference to the new scenarios in the fields of IoT, Edge Computing, Cloud and Containerisation.

Key requirements: Diploma or Degree, preferably in a technical or scientific discipline; Excellent knowledge of the main Open Source monitoring frameworks, with particular reference to Nagios and, ideally, Check_MK; Good knowledge of the main solutions for the monitoring of application performances and of the user experience, with particular reference to the Dynatrace product; Excellent knowledge of the Linux systems; Knowledge of the Windows 2012/2016/2019/2022 operating systems; Excellent knowledge of scripting languages in a Linux environment (bash, Python, PHP); Good knowledge of the PL/SQL languages and SQL; Good knowledge of networking systems.
