No Offer Description The ARIA project aims to develop air-breathing electric propulsion for space applications by constructing a wind tunnel capable of simulating on-ground very-low Earth orbit (VLEO) conditions.

The VLEO wind tunnel will consist of a vacuum chamber, connected to the test chamber and equipped with its own pumping system and dedicated diagnostics, as well as a modular flow source capable of generating neutral particle flows representative of orbital conditions.

The research fellow will be responsible for developing the flow source and conducting its experimental verification.

The work will include: Participation in the design of the VLEO wind tunnel.

Definition of flow source requirements.

Assessment of strategies for particle generation, acceleration, and neutralization.

Design and realization of the source.

Verification of the generated flow representativeness when operating with N2/O2/Ar.
