No Offer Description The research proposed in this call aims to investigate the cognitive disorders and neural alterations that underlie the development of delusions and hallucinations in neurodegenerative diseases in the elderly, such as Lewy body dementia, Alzheimer's disease, Parkinson's dementia, and frontotemporal dementia. These will be compared with the findings in patients with psychiatric disorders. To achieve this, a series of behavioral studies, along with structural and functional neuroimaging, will be conducted to identify, on one hand, the cognitive processes whose disruption contributes to the onset of delusions and hallucinations, and on the other hand, the neural circuits whose alteration is associated with the presence of these symptoms.
