Here at The Exploration Company, we are developing, producing, and operating Nyx, a modular and reusable space orbital vehicle that can eventually be refuelled in orbit and that can carry cargo - and potentially humans in the longer run.

We want you as a talented and experienced In-orbit Services Principal Engineer to help us in our mission by leading the development of in-orbit services evolutions of Nyx through the preparation of dedicated proposals and studies, starting if up-coming in orbit proof of concept demonstration missions for rendezvous and docking with storable propellant transfer, and cryogenic propellant transfer.

Key ResponsibilitiesIn your capacity as In-orbit Services Principal Engineer, your role will continuously evolve, but initially your day to day duties will include:

Build and lead a multi-disciplinary In-orbit Services team within the Future Services team.

Drive, as technical leader, the evolutions of the Nyx spacecraft to provide new orbital services such as

in-orbit refilling,

satellite inspections,

orbit maintenance and raising,

end-of-life management.

Define high level requirements and their associated flow-down and manage / maintain the technical baselines to ensure that the design answers the needs of the future in-orbit services.

Manage and coordinate the delivery on time, on quality, on cost of the projects under the In-orbit Services team responsibilities.

Provide technical support for the Commercial and Government teams to help in The Exploration Company's business development.

In coordination with the Bid Manager, elaborate the technical and programmatic parts for In-orbit Services related proposals, making sure they are aligned with the team and company capabilities

What we would love to see from youIn the role of In-orbit Services Principal Engineer ideally, you will have the following:

Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or another related field.

Proven work experience of more than 5 years in the aerospace industry (with significant technical responsibilities).

Strong technical background with hands-on engineering experience and working knowledge of

cryogenic and storable propellants storage, conditioning and transfer systems,

or Guidance, Navigation and Control systems for Rendezvous Proximity Operations and Docking, preferably non-cooperative.
