Industrial Engineer About the role This is a critical role in the OPEX Team at the Site and will report into the Site Operational Excellence Director. This role is fundamental in executing the Continuous Improvement Plans for the Site, to achieve its growth and profitability objectives. Role Description The Industrial Engineer will aid in the implementation of the HAPS (Haleon Performance System) principles/tools at the site to deliver the Business Strategy, improve Business Performance (Safety, Quality, Service, & Cost), by using a data-driven approach. This role will also play a key role in site strategy execution, design leaner processes and flows and execution of Productivity initiatives that align with the Site goals. Key responsibilities: Act as the SME in the Operational Excellence system and techniques, such as Early Management, Line Balancing, Value Stream Mapping, Problem Solving, PDCA, SMED, 5S, Autonomous Maintenance and Centre-Lining. Lead and design workshops aimed at enhancing capability and cross-functional improvement initiatives, utilizing OpEx tools and techniques. Design leaner processes and flows for people and materials, and support the site's early management system in alignment with the site's strategic performance and facilities plans. Manage the site's cost-saving and waste reduction program (Fuel 4 Growth program). Optimize and maintain HAPS tools for site usage. Participate in strategic kaizen events as an OpEx SME to support site results. Build hard capabilities of the workforce via Lean tools training: coaching and mentoring the team (especially the OpEx team) and individuals on best practices for operational excellence and continuous improvement. Lead site implementation efforts of digital tools in support of the Haleon Performance System (HAPS). Conduct daily GEMBA walks to identify safety, quality, efficiency, and waste opportunities. Qualifications and skills Industrial Engineering Degree and 5 years of experience in process/flow design in a Manufacturing environment. Recent experience in FMCG Operations/OpEx/Engineering type roles. Knowledge of minimum safety and quality requirements in the FMCG sector. Proven experience in Operational Excellence Systems execution, such as TPM, WCM, Lean, PDCA or Six Sigma project management. Proven capability in operations performance improvement (e. g. OEE, waste reduction, productivity), problem-solving methodology, and designing operational processes/flows using lean methods/tools (e. g. , Line Balancing, Value Stream Mapping, VA/NVA analysis) while adhering to safety and quality requirements. Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certification. IT Skills: Proficiency in Power Point, Excel, Power BI, OEE % data collection systems, Visio, and knowledge of layout/station design software would be desirable. Project Management skills. Excellent interpersonal and networking skills to enable effective and influential internal communication, from shopfloor to Functional Director level. Capable of driving cross-functional teams, operating in a data-driven manner, team working and constantly prioritizing the activities/projects. Ability to lead and design workshops to enhance capabilities and/or improvement initiatives at various levels within the organization. Excellent knowledge of written and spoken English. Communication: Excellent oral, written, and presentation skills. Ability to collaborate and relate to multiple Levels within the organization.
