Information Specialist (Information Security)
Duties**:
- Functions include management and compliance of the Information Assurance Vulnerability Management (IAVM) and Information Assurance Vulnerability Assessment (IAVA) programs and systems configurations and network security enterprise management.
- Serve as the point of contact for all aspects of cybersecurity, computer network defense, and network security within the Regional Network Enterprise Center (RNEC) footprint.
- Research existing policies/guidance and create Tactics, Techniques and Procedures (TTPs), Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), or other guidance for review and approval of senior leadership.
- Implement information systems security technology and procedures, to include Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) that address access control and authentication of users and transmitted information.
- Responsible for reviewing and analyzing scans of all unclassified/classified servers, devices, and workstations on the networks to validate compliance in accordance with the IAVA program.
- Evaluate impacts of new technologies on current systems and policies and initiate staff studies regarding cybersecurity resource shortfall and or inadequacies.
- Responsible for maintaining Authority to Operate (ATO) Status of multiple authorizations in Enterprise Mission Assurance Support Service (eMASS) and local compliance tracking tool.

- Three year trial/probationary period may be required.
- Male applicants born after December 31, 1959, must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration.
- You will be required to provide proof of U. S. Citizenship.
- Applicants must comply with the Exceptional Family Member Program requirements as outlined in the DoD Instruction 1315. 19.
- This position requires the incumbent to possess, or obtain and maintain, a valid regular or official U. S. Passport.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top-Secret security clearance with eligibility or access to sensitive compartmented information (SCI).
- Current DoD Employees: If a current permanent CES employee, you shall be granted administrative return rights. If not a current permanent CES employee, you may be granted administrative return rights if agreed to by your CONUS organization.
- In accordance with DoD CES Personnel System Implementation Guidance for Overseas Rotations and Administrative Return Rights, employees must be able to satisfy the rotation requirement and tour limitations in DoD Instruction 1400. 25 Volume 1230.
- Overtime and shift work may be required on short notice to include nights, holidays, and weekend in support of related mission requirements.
- In accordance with Change 3 of AR 600-85, Alcohol and Drug Abuse Prevention and Control Program, the incumbent of this position must successfully pass a urinalysis for illegal drug use prior to appointment and periodically thereafter.
- Selectee must meet Position requirements for certification at Level II/III in Information Assurance Management within 6 months or less of appointment to this Position.
- Temporary Duty (TDY) travel is required approximately 25% of the time requiring the employee to travel away from the normal duty station.
- This position has been designated mission essential. Employee may be required to remain on duty or report for duty during severe weather or other installation closings.
- The duties of this position require the incumbent to possess or obtain a valid US Army in Europe (USAREUR) Driver's License.
- In order to obtain a USAREUR driver's license you must be in possession of a valid state driver's license in one of the 50 U. S. states or possessions to operate vehicles AND pass a written exam.

- To qualify based on your experience, your resume must describe one-year specialized experience that demonstrates the possession of knowledge, skills, abilities, and competencies necessary for immediate success in the position. Such experience is typically in or directly related to the work of the position to be filled. Specialized experience would be demonstrated by reviewing, evaluating, and documenting the security impact of system changes; developing local plans, policies, or practices necessary to provide guidance and assistance in all aspects of hardware, software, and information system security; and recommending corrective actions for system deficiencies or vulnerabilities.
