Position Information:Posting Number: 240096Job Title: Instructor Pool - Psychology (Florence Campus)Department InformationOur Social Science Division with the Florence Campus is seeking a part-time faculty for Psychology, to teach in-person classes at the Florence Campus.
The primary responsibility of the Psychology Instructor is to provide quality teaching in general community college Psychology courses which would be Introduction to Psychology I and II. Instructors must have a passion for what they teach and have teaching styles that support student success.
Instructors are responsible for following Division and College procedures in support of teaching and learning. This is an application pool posting 2024-2025.

Part-time faculty may be eligible for full contracted benefits after meeting certain criteria. Working Schedule:Faculty schedule and hours determined by division, department, staff and student needs, and may fall outside of normal business working hours and days. Classes as assigned by the Division Dean based on need, enrollment, and availability of contracted and/or more senior part-time faculty. Minimum Qualifications:Master's degree in Psychology.
All degrees and graduate hours must be from a regionally accredited institution. Required Experience:Licensure or Certification RequirementsConditions of Employment:Successful applicants are required to pass a criminal background check.
Infractions do not necessarily disqualify a candidate, and will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis. Preferred Qualifications:Experience teaching Psychology courses at the college level. Position Purpose:To teach general Psychology courses in-person as assigned at the Florence campus.
Participate in discipline/college and other professional activities.
Teach in a learning environment that puts students first. Essential Functions:Exhibit compliance with College policies and procedures. Maintain and post teaching schedule, regular meetings and office hours. Provide high-quality classroom instruction. Create course content, develop and revise course content and materials. Incorporate college values into the curriculum. Deliver curriculum to students in traditional and online formats. Online Teaching and Student Support:Expect to make use of the Learning Management System (LMS) to publish and update content, post grades and promote student engagement. Monitor student progress and provide reasonable coaching and assistance to struggling students towards success. This position requires that an employee be able to sit or stand for extended periods of time. Knowledge Skills and Abilities:Knowledge of instructional design, delivery and learning theory. Ability to evaluate and modify courses.
