As Instrumentation & Automation Leader, you will join our Department of Electrical and Instrumentation Automation and Telecommunication, in the business line ROIS.

He/she will oversee the Instrumentation, Telecommunication, Control and Safety Systems for international projects within the Renewable Sources and Circular Economy sectors handling and coordinating complex Instrumentation and Control Systems engineering design, analysis, and development of an assigned scope of work in a project and/or specific complex supply such as DCS, SIS, FGS, BMS, MMS, CCS, packaged Equipment UCPs, Flow Metering System, Instrumented Storage Systems as well as Field Instrumentation, Automated Valves and miscellaneous Telecommunication Systems. The Instrument and Automation Leader will report to the Technical and Project Managers assigned to the Project and to the Head of Engineering while preparing the execution strategy of the project and assure its application throughout the entire project life; Within medium size projects he/she ensures the coordination of teams within Saipem's Group, outsourced personnel, and Telecom Systems Integrators. Within the Division, the Instrument and Automation Leader has also the duty to provide guidance to the Head of Engineering on any problems related to the application of procedures and working methods, in order to improve the efficiency of the department and hold training courses according to Company needs, and to compare with colleagues within the Group, on new design techniques. Functional job responsibilities, complying with either BASIC, Industrialisation, FEED or EPC project design phases, will include the coordination of following activities:To support the estimation of project CAPEX/OPEX as well as manhours loadTo read, analyze, review and mechanize P&IDsTo develop and review Block Diagrams, Control Narratives, Sequence Flow Charts, Cause and Effect Diagrams, Logic Diagrams, Instrument Loop DiagramsTo define, populate and maintain Project Control Systems I/Os Databases (SPI)To properly interpret and apply codes & standards and customer design requirements, for the preparation of Instrumentation and Control Systems design productsTo develop Discipline Specifications and RequisitionsTo evaluate Specifications and Vendor QuotationsTo support Packages/Mechanical Systems Department reviewing Packages/Mechanical Systems suppliers data and descriptions to determine control and instrumentation functional requirementsTo ensure appropriate Telecom, Field Instrumentation and Systems selection, sizing and deliveryTo assume responsibility for cost, schedule, quantity and budget controlTo ensure effective communication among other engineering disciplinesTo provide necessary inputs and coordinate documents with suppliers, other disciplines and customersTo be able to effectively communicate technical solutions and concepts to other engineers and non-engineersTo ensure effective management of changeTo mentor junior engineers and facilitate their development both technically and professionallyTo cooperate with the Project Lead Electrical Engineer for the preparation, application and maintenance of the project procedures and deliverablesTo review Telecom and Control Systems Vendor Functional Design Specifications / Drawings / Procedures/Manuals to ensure their technical complianceTo attend and perform Control Systems FAT/IFAT and SAT and witnessing the compliance of vendor in meeting the project requirementsTo proactively attend to HAZID/HAZOP and SIL Allocation studiesTo contribute to the SIL verification assurance processTo learn the latest technology in instrumentation and controls in order to maintain current proficiency in the industry, and be able to make the best technology recommendationsTo interact with Client representatives, Vendors and Subcontractors for technical topicsTo guarantee assistance to the Inspection, Construction and Commissioning Departments as per project needsTo support the proposal efforts in projects bids preparing man-hour estimates and planning activities for proposals as requiredTo have full knowledge of the workflows, of the various phases and dynamics that characterize the plant engineering and the specialist engineering for tools/analyzers of a plantQUALIFICATION: Master's degree or technical diplomaKNOWLEDGE OF ENGLISH LANGUAGE: B2/C1LABOUR RELATIONSHIP: permanent contractYEARS OF EXPERIENCE:Proven experience of at least 5 years in the same or similar role with International Main Contracting & Engineering CompaniesDetailed knowledge, with direct experience with Control and Safety Systems (i. E.

DCS, ESD/SIS, F&G, PLCs, MMS, CCS, RTU, SCADA)Familiar with Control and Safety Systems codes and standards both domestic and international STDs. Instrumentation Database (Smart Plant Instrumentation/AVEVA/EB) knowledgeOwnership of Discipline oriented International Credits and Acknowledgements will be considered a plusKnowledge earned and experience spent over Digitalisation Features (Advanced Systems, IoT implementation, digital twin architectures, MES&ERP, remote operations and OT Cybersecurity) applied to project will be considered a plusCarried out coordination activities and able to manage independently the workload and team work, in full compliance with the times and the hour budget/projects costsSOFT SKILLS:Structured & Analytical approach to develop and analyze technical documentationLOCATION: Milano HO.
