Intelligence Specialist (Operations)
Duties**:
- Serves as the Chief, Counterintelligence (CI) Coordinating Authority (CICA) within the, CI and Human Intelligence (HUMINT) Division (G2X), Operations Intelligence (OP INTEL) Directorate.
- Conducts CI operational coordination between DoD, INSCOM, COCOM, other ASCCs, Sister Service Component Commands, other government agencies, and Department of the Army for CI matters.
- Continuously follows up with USAFRICOM, and other government agencies and appropriate Army CI elements to ensure actions affecting agencies are completed or resolved, and properly documented.
- Responsible for CI activities conducted under the authorities of the Secretary of the Army (SECARMY) within the SETAF-AF areas of responsibility.
- Closely coordinates all exchanges of information to ensure each agency's equities are fully understood and appropriately protected by all concerned.
- Serves as SETAF-AF Intelligence Oversight Officer.

- Two year trial/probationary period may be required.
- In accordance with Change 3 to AR 600-85, Alcohol and Drug Abuse Prevention and Control Program, individual must successfully pass a urinalysis screening for illegal drug use prior to appointment and periodically thereafter.
- Must be willing to undergo and successfully complete a counterintelligence-scope polygraph examination with No Deception Indicated (NDI) on a pre-appointment and periodic basis.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top-Secret security clearance based on a T5 (or equivalent level) investigation with eligibility for sensitive compartmented information (SCI).
- Must complete the U. S. Army CI Special Agent Course (CISAC), the Defense CI Agents Course or other DoD recognized CI training or legacy CI training course and be eligible for issuance of US Army Badge and Credentials.
- While not mandatory, successful completion of any of these advanced CI training courses is highly desirable: the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center CI Training Program (FLETC CITP),
- Source Operations Course (SOC), Advance Source Operations Course (ASOC), Counterintelligence Force Protection Source Operations Course (CFSO), Field Training Course (FTC), Military Operations Training Course (MOTC).
- Source Operations Course (SOC), Advance Source Operations Course (ASOC).
If not a graduate of any of these courses, relevant experience will be heavily weighed.
- This is an emergency essential position that ensures the success of combat operations or supports essential combat systems after a mobilization, evacuation order, or other military crisis.
- Incumbent may be required to deploy, on very short notice, to potentially high-threat, hostile OCONUS environments and to undergo specific training and immunization requirements as appropriate for OCONUS deployments.
- Anthrax vaccination will be required.
Incumbent may be required to perform duties under austere and potentially hazardous conditions during exercise and real-world crisis deployments.
- Position may require travel (30% of the time), CONUS and OCONUS, as well as the potential for extended duty with long hours under high pressure and generally high-risk job responsibilities.
- Must sign a statement attesting to the understanding of DCIPS provisions as indicated in AR 690-13.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a vehicle operator's license to drive military and civilian vehicles.
- Civilian personnel of the Department of Defense are not exempt from this provision.
Therefore, as a condition of employment, incumbent will be required to sign a form acknowledging understanding of this provision.

Specialized experience is defined as experience conducting Counterintelligence operations to support mission requirements.
Also includes experience interpreting Intelligence policies, guidance and/or regulations.
This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GG/GS-12).
- Progressively responsible experience is that which has included intelligence-related research, analysis, collections and /or operations.
