Interdisciplinary General Engineer/Architect
DutiesYou will be responsible for the project management features of work related to military construction projects, and coordinate and direct the work of others in the execution of project development, design, and construction. You will provide independent, timely and professional project management services for the planning, design and construction of assigned projects. You will provide project management/leadership, criteria and code interpretation, and training and mentoring in the area project management. You will render technical decisions/recommendations on situations, questions, and/or problems relating to scheduling, funding, project coordination, and contract interpretations. You will plan and lead meeting and conferences required for execution of the project. You will track the progress of facility design to ensure execution remains within scope, within budget and on schedule. You will interpret codes, standards, regulations and policies to effect good business decisions and successful project execution. You will provide construction support including visits to construction sites to observe progress and assists in problem resolution. Requirements Conditions of EmploymentMust be a US Citizen. You may be required to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time. Registration as Professional Engineer or Registered Architect is required. This position is covered under the Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA).
Certification in the Acquisition Functional Area and category assigned to the position is required within established category timeframes. This is a Defense Acquisition Workforce position that requires an Engineering and Technical Management, Foundational acquisition certification.
The incumbent has 36 months to earn this certification. Acquisition Workforce (AWF) members must complete 80 hours of Continuous Learning Points (CLPs) every two (2) years, in accordance with DoDI 5000. 66.
Qualifications In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.
Specialized experience as a professional Engineer/Architect must demonstrate the following: 1) Managing project scope, schedule, budget, and funding processes; 2) Assisting with development of statements of work, negotiations, and management of design task orders; and 3) Providing post construction award services (PCAS) with the technical team on projects; 4) Managing oversight of contract requirements and construction progress.

Combination of education and experience -- college-level education, training, and/or technical experience that furnished (1) a thorough knowledge of the physical and mathematical sciences underlying engineering, and (2) a good understanding, both theoretical and practical, of the engineering sciences and techniques and their applications to one of the branches of engineering.
