PLEASE NOTE THIS IS A TEMPORARY ROLE

The **Timber **Procurement Manager, Europe** will ensure the timber sourcing process for CHEP Europe Operations.

The role is accountable for developing and managing contracts for existing and new strategic suppliers, as well as for identifying, onboarding and developing new materials suppliers in the geography in scope.

The resource will manage the network of existing timber suppliers, ensuring compliance to both quality specifications and Service Level Agreements, as well as ensuring the timely implementation of the initiatives aimed at achieving Opex and Capex saving targets.

The Procurement Manager, Timber Europe will work in collaboration with regional stakeholders and the procurement Global Office, to optimize the raw materials flows to CHEP Operations, including Country Plant Operations and pallet manufacturing sites

- Manage existing contracts and negotiations with timber suppliers

- Monitors and follows up on Suppliers performance against established SPRM standard

- Define supply flows in collaboration with local Supply Chain Teams

- Explore the market for new suppliers' opportunities, in line with Brambles Global Strategy

- Delivers European Opex timber savings

- Supports quality and new products related projects

**Qualifications**:

- Essential _- Supply Chain / Procurement or Forestry related degree

- Desirable_ - Quality Management / Six Sigma / Finance / Forestry Sustainability

**Experience

- At least 3-5 years of experience within a relevant business environment such as product development, process engineering, quality, procurement, innovation, forestry

- In-depth knowledge of the European timber/pallet market

- Experience in contract drafting and negotiation

- Communication skills to effectively manage the relation with suppliers and influence stakeholders

- Experience in international matrix organisations across functions and cultures

- Experience in delivering projects

**Skills and knowledge

- Willing to travel both regionally and internationally, and take a "boots on the ground" approach to developing new sources of supply

- Persuasive communication and influencing skills to act as an advocate for Procurement

- Understanding of stakeholders' drivers & expectations from Global Procurement

- Good interpersonal, communication, and listening skills

- Strong business acumen to evaluate new opportunities and implement them

- Drive for results

- A drive for change with a commitment to future excellence

- Understanding of procurement-related business finances

- Ability to manage ambiguity and handle complexity and interact at a senior level

- Strong business acumen to evaluate new opportunities and structure and negotiate deals from a regional perspective

- Ability to think "outside the box" and develop new strategic programs that challenge the status quo
