Interior Design Manager
As Interior Design Manager at our Global Office, you are part of a team that brings the legend of Belmond to life and you will be located in Milan. In this role your primary goal is to provide in-house design services as part of a high-performing Design and Project Development (D&PD) team. You will be responsible for designing and executing interior design projects within the Belmond portfolio, ensuring they meet brand standards, budget, and design guidelines. The Interior Design Manager will collaborate with the Interior Design Director and property General Managers to prioritize projects and successfully deliver them.

**Primary Responsibilities Include**:
- Visit project sites on a rotating basis as necessary, providing regular progress reports to the Interior Design Director. Highlight any potential risks related to project timelines, as outlined by the contractor or local project manager.
- Monitor contractors to ensure that the approved designs are implemented accurately in all technical aspects, verifying that the final construction matches the provided drawings.
- Address on-site queries from the General Contractor (GC) or sub-contractors promptly. Collaborate with the Belmond ID Director and operations teams to provide timely responses to Requests for Information (RFIs).
- Review and approve samples from suppliers as needed.
- Collaborate with local architects, interior designers, and project managers hired by the company to oversee ongoing refurbishment projects. Propose design solutions when necessary to ensure cost-effective execution while maintaining design integrity.
- Provide support during installations and attend site meetings as required to ensure successful project implementation.
- Assist in styling and accessorizing spaces post-installation for photography and launch purposes.
- Supervise and report on the completion and quality of snagging works from current and previous project phases.
- Attend contractor site meetings as necessary.
- Collaborate with the Back-of-House (BOH) interior design planning, engaging with the local hotel team, local architects, and Belmond DPD Project Design.
- Participate in Design-to-Market (DTM) calls when needed with the Belmond project management team.
- Visit furniture manufacturers for prototype approvals when required.
- Work closely with the Procurement Director D&PD to identify potential suppliers for inclusion in the Belmond Interior Design library.

- Proven experience as Interior Design Manager, preferably in the luxury hospitality sector.
- Experience in managing design projects from concept to completion.
- Familiarity with project management principles and the ability to create comprehensive project documentation.
- Understanding of project budgets and the ability to develop designs that align with financial constraints.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to collaborate effectively with the GM, operations team, and project stakeholders.
- Detail-oriented approach to ensure installations are on brand and meet design specifications.
- Strong organizational skills to handle multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize tasks effectively.
- Ability to adapt to changing project requirements and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Familiarity with procurement processes and the ability to work alongside the Procurement Director D&PD to identify potential suppliers for the Belmond Interior Design library.

- The role is generally able to benefit from our current hybrid working policy where team members are expected to attend the office on their Team Day plus two additional days (i. e. 3 days per week in the office and 2 days remotely).
