**PURPOSE OF THE POSITION/RESPONSIBILITY

- As directed by the Manager and/or Supervisor/Team Leader of the department performs the tasks and activities listed below for which he/she has been cleared by the appropriate training, in compliance with company and departmental SOPs, data integrity principles, GMP and current safety regulations.

- A proactive role is required for his/her area of responsibility in the management of assigned analytical activities of laboratory equipment and materials, in compliance with company and departmental SOPs, principles of data integrity, GMP and current safety regulations.

**SPECIFIC TASKS/PRIMARY ACTIVITIES

**Analysis

- Operates, monitors, and manages laboratory analytical equipment, taking care of performing internal verification tests where required and reporting functionality problems or other anomalies to his/her supervisor.

- After specific training, he deals with the validation of analytical methods.

- He/she manages laboratory documentation, taking care of delivery and collection of copies in controlled distribution under QAC supervision, and draws up/reviews records of analytical activities according to his/her supervisor's assignments in accordance with the procedures in force.

- Stores laboratory records and maintains them according to approved procedures.

- Intervenes in the evaluation of materials to be purchased for the performance of laboratory activities and related documentation.

- He/she disposes of laboratory waste in accordance with current EHS procedures and inactivates it if required.

- Carries out the tests required by the specifications in force for monitoring plant fluids.

**Analytical Support

- Supports the Team Leader/Supervisor in the management of checks on routine instrumental and analytical data and in the management of extra-analytical activities of the Department, by virtue of specific assignments linked to competence and experience.

- Supports the Team Leader/Supervisor in the execution of activities assigned to external service companies through support in sampling activities (e. g.

well water sampling during periodic external monitoring) and sample preparation (preparation of documentation and samples to be sent for analysis at external laboratories)

- Supports the Team Leader/Supervisor in monitoring the progress of analyses, in accordance with the priorities defined by the Manager and/or Supervisor, the company quality standards and the laboratory's requirements for effectiveness and efficiency.

- Supports the Team Leader/Supervisor in the correct management and calibration of laboratory instruments, in compliance with the defined methods and current regulations, laws, GMP standards.

- Supports the Team Leader/Supervisor in ensuring the correct management of analytical documentation, from receipt to control, archiving and traceability, of internal and external origin, paper or electronic, in accordance with current procedures and company quality standards.

- Supports the Team Leader/Supervisor in ensuring the issue, verification and transfer of analysis bulletins relating to the controls performed, through the coordination and control of the collection of analysis data, in compliance with company procedures and standards.

- Supports the Team Leader/Supervisor in contributing to the optimal execution of analyses, through the appropriate technical training of laboratory personnel both during induction and when introducing new methods, in compliance with company standards.

- Supports the Team Leader/Supervisor in ensuring the monitoring of the adequacy and continuous updating of procedures concerning the area of competence, through their drafting and revision as required, in compliance with current regulations, laws and GMP standards.

**REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS**:

Studies/Diploma/Training:

- Diploma of Chemical Expert or Higher Institute relevant to the field of employment or Degree in Chemistry, Industrial Chemistry, Pharmacy, Pharmaceutical Chemistry and Technology, Biology

Technical and computer skills:

- Thorough knowledge of common analytical techniques and required instrumentation.

- Knowledge of company procedures, GMP and data integrity principles

- Knowledge of laboratory knowledge and computer programs.

Professional experience:

- In analytical laboratory or pharmaceutical technology laboratory
