Internship in Dynamics on Complex Networks at Complex Human Behaviour Lab (CHuB) Research Unit

The Foundation is looking for a proactive and dynamic candidate, with good organizational and relational skills, and an inclination for teamwork, strongly motivated to work on innovative theoretical and data-oriented projects related to the dynamics on complex networks.

We offer a training opportunity that lends itself at the interface between Complexity Science and Complex Network Theory.

The candidate will develop analytical and computational techniques to study cutting-edge problems dealing with dynamical processes that occur on top of networked systems, such as epidemic spreading or cascading failures.

The overarching goal of the internship is not to reproduce data but to understand it through a modeling scheme: we first pose a well-defined question, then propose a model with isolated mechanisms that determine emergent consequences at the collective level, from which we can establish cause-effect relations.

The internship opportunity is opened by the Complex Human Behaviour Lab (CHuB) of the Digital Society Center of FBK.

Physics, Math, Data Science, Computer Science, etc. Good knowledge of at least one programming language, e. g. , C/C++, Fortran, Python, R, Julia, etc. Good knowledge of written and spoken English. We offer:Curricular internship (no allowance);3-6 months, depending on candidate's needs and preparation;Canteen;Support for the search for accommodation at the affiliated structures. The internship may be useful to complete the master thesis.
