BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DIVISION The current prevalence of malnutrition in children is alarming. Maternal and child undernutrition is the underlying cause of approximately 45% of all mortality in children under 5. Stunting levels remain stubbornly high in many parts of the world, while child overweight is rising at a tremendous pace - even in low-income countries. As part of WFP's ongoing efforts to combat malnutrition, CODA has been developed as an innovative digital solution to prevent and manage wasting. This role is key to ensuring that quality assurance testing is conducted rigorously to confirm that product releases to Country Offices (COs) meet expectations. GENERAL INFORMATION Type of assignment: Internship Number of available positions: 1 Country of assignment: Italy City of assignment: Rome Hiring Unit: Nutrition and Food Quality Service Supervisor: Team Lead, Digital Innovations Working arrangement: In person Duration of assignment: 8 months Expected Starting Date: 17 February 2025 DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Review and analyse requirements with guidance from the Business Analyst. Assist the Business Analyst in developing and refining country-specific UML diagrams. Familiarise with the CODA backlog and keep it updated based on guidance from the Scrum Owner. Conduct thorough testing of new features and modifications in each release. Support the quality assurance process to verify that all changes meet required standards. Assist in building the capacity of users and Country Office focal points to perform User Acceptance Testing (UAT). Document and report any issues or bugs discovered during testing. Perform additional related tasks as required and delegated by the Team Lead. STANDARD MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Be currently enrolled in an undergraduate programme (Bachelor's degree) from a recognized university and have completed at least two years; OR Be currently enrolled in a graduate programme (Master's degree); OR Be a recent graduate from an undergraduate or graduate programme (within six months prior to the application); AND Classes attendance in the last 12 months of enrolment in a recognized university; Excellent written and spoken English is required (proficiency/level C). Working knowledge of another official UN language is an asset. KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, particularly in translating complex technical concepts for diverse audiences. SUPERVISION Under the direct supervision of Team Lead Nutrition Digital Innovations. TRAINING COMPONENTS Throughout their assignment WFP interns have access to an industry leading learning platform, weLearn. LEARNING ELEMENTS At the end of the assignment, the Intern should gain valuable learning opportunities in digital innovation for nutrition, emphasizing hands-on experience with tools like CODA. INTERNSHIP TERMS AND CONDITIONS: Interns receive a monthly stipend from WFP up to the maximum amount of US$1, 000 per month. WFP is not responsible for living expenses, arrangements for accommodation, VISA requests and related costs. WFP will reimburse travel tickets for candidates who are nationals of developing countries. WFP will recognize candidates' educational credentials from recognised institutions.
