About IFAD: The International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) is an international financial institution and a specialized United Nations agency dedicated to eradicating rural poverty and hunger.

It does so by investing in rural people and financing programmes and projects that increase agricultural productivity and raise rural incomes.

Job Role: The Investigation Officer performs investigations into IFAD project and/or staff misconduct related allegations, as per AUO's standards applicable to investigations.

The incumbent will conduct herself/himself in a professional manner, will keep confidentiality and will exercise due care in carrying out her/his work.

Key Functions and Results: Investigation: Conduct and/or assist thorough investigations into allegations of fraud, corruption, collusion, and coercion, as well as allegations of staff misconduct including harassment and abuse of authority.

Promoting Anticorruption Policy: Contribute to the implementation and maintenance of the IFAD anticorruption policy through coordination with colleagues and external entities.

Partnership Building and Communication: Provide guidance to IFAD employees on investigation matters and coordinate with local officials and external organizations.

Managerial Functions: Accountable for integrity, transparency, and equity in the management of assigned IFAD resources.

Key Performance Indicators: Conduct investigations and deliver comprehensive reports while advising the Investigation Manager on institutional risks and mitigation measures.

Job Profile Requirements: Education: Advanced university degree from an accredited institution in a job-related field, such as law or economics.

Experience: At least five (5) years of relevant professional experience in investigatory work in an international setting.

Two (2) years in a multi-cultural organization.

Languages: Proficiency in English and knowledge of other languages is an asset.

Skills: Knowledge of IFAD's governance and mandate.

Advanced data analytics and risk management skills.

Expertise in investigative strategies and legal drafting.

Other Information: IFAD staff members are international civil servants subject to the authority of the President of IFAD.
