What do you do as WMS Analyst Developer: As a WMS Analyst/Developer, you work daily on large and small WMS projects for different customers in our logistics operations. At GXO, you work at one of the largest Supply Chain organizations in the world. As a result, no workday is the same In this role, the focus is on gathering the business requirements and translating them into an optimal IT solution. You are responsible for building the IT technical requirements, overseeing the software/application developments, performing functional testing, and system integration testing. You will be a key player in our IT WMS platform team to deliver projects and software changes on time and on budget. You will be working at the IT department, where IT is taking care of all GXO sites in Italy and Switzerland. In this role, you will report directly to the GXO Italy WMS Platforms Lead. Your duties include : You will gather and translate the business requirements into detailed functional & technical designs. For large size projects, you will be responsible for translating the functional analysis provided by the IT Consultants into technical design documents. You will translate information flows and interface definitions to map the WMS application connectors/interfaces to meet the expected WMS functionality. You will directly implement the software/application changes thanks to in-depth know-how and expertise on the Operating System and development toolkit (AS400, RPG, SQL, ). You will be accountable to update the Software Development Life Cycle tool to report updates and store the software specification and documentation. You report on software development progress and results. For the larger projects, you are expected to provide direct support for the Go-Live. Besides WMS, you may occasionally perform tasks in the areas of TMS, reporting, and EDI. What do you have: You have knowledge of WMS systems at the configuration level and logistical warehouse processes, preferably in a 3PL environment. You have at least 5 years of experience in project organizations and knowledge of drafting functional and technical specifications. You have at least 5 years of experience in software development on IBM - RPG. You are independent, analytical, and accurate, but you are also able to maintain a helicopter view. Experience in a complex, high-demanding, and fast-paced international environment, preferably in the Supply Chain industry. You have a good knowledge of the Italian and English languages.
