Are you up for the challenge? Role Overview The IT Applications Lead plays a pivotal role within the IT department, overseeing and optimizing the organization's application portfolio, supervising application-related projects, and driving system integrations, business intelligence (BI), and cost efficiency.

This role requires a combination of strong technical expertise and management capabilities to ensure the modern SaaS-based application landscape aligns with business objectives.

The role will report into the Director of IT & Cybersecurity.

The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience managing Business applications stack (CRM, ERP, BI etc) with focus on cloud-based solutions like NetSuite, Salesforce and integration platforms like Celigo, alongside the ability to handle new demands and develop a simplification roadmap for application processes.

Core Responsibilities Application Portfolio Management Maintain, support, and optimize the organization's application landscape, focusing on SaaS solutions.

Landscape includes both Business applications and Productivity applications widely used in a dynamically growing Axelera AI environment.

Monitor application performance and ensure adherence to SLAs.

Conduct meetings with vendors to address problematic points, manage licensing and negotiate improved contract conditions.

Applications Projects Oversee and manage application-related projects, ensuring timelines, budgets, and quality standards are met.

Get involved in technical workshops and implementation activities.

System Integrations & BI Manage and enhance system integrations across the organization, aiming to achieve data reliability, transparency of data flows and minimize disruptions.

Hands-on experience with iPaaS platforms (like Celigo) is considered a plus.

Oversee BI solutions to improve data visibility and decision-making processes.

Governance and Operational Processes Establish a governance model for the application landscape, ensuring consistency, compliance, and alignment with business objectives.

Define and implement operational processes and procedures for managing applications, integrations, and updates where no current framework exists.

Architectural and Design Principles Define architectural and design principles for introducing new systems, setting up API interfaces, and ensuring compatibility across the IT landscape.

Establish minimum requirements for new applications, including performance, security, scalability, and integration readiness.

License & Cost Management Evaluate and optimize licensing agreements to reduce costs and improve ROI.

Track application-related spending and identify opportunities for savings.

Simplification Roadmap Drive initiatives to simplify application processes, reduce redundancies, and streamline workflows.

Develop and maintain a long-term plan for optimizing the IT application ecosystem.

Managing New Application Demands Collaborate with business stakeholders to evaluate and implement new software solutions as per emerging requirements.

Ensure alignment between new tools and existing architecture.

Required Competencies Technical Expertise Solid understanding of SaaS applications and cloud environments.

Hands-on experience with NetSuite ERP, Salesforce and Celigo (or other middleware/integration tools).

Knowledge of BI platforms, Data Warehousing and experience in system integrations.

Strong understanding of architectural and design principles for applications and APIs.

Strong understanding of end-to-end business processes (e. g. , procure-to-pay, hire-to-retire etc. )

to effectively analyze, design, and optimize these processes within the business applications landscape.

The candidate should be capable of advising stakeholders on best practices for implementation and suggesting improvements or optimizations to drive efficiency and alignment with organizational goals.

Application Security Deep understanding of access control models, user authentication, and overall application security best practices.

o Ability to ensure application compliance with security standards and regulatory requirements.

o Hands-on experience in protecting sensitive data across different systems by setting up access controls like role-based access control (RBAC) and data segmentation to minimize unnecessary exposure and security risks.

o The candidate should also be skilled in securing systems to limit access for external members, such as contractors, using appropriate controls and policies.

o Familiarity with securing Atlassian tools (e. g. , Jira, Confluence) and DevOps platforms like GitHub and GitLab is a strong plus.

Management & Leadership Proven ability to supervise multiple application-related projects simultaneously within a dynamic rapidly changing environment.

Experience managing vendors, contracts, and licensing.

Strong analytical and decision-making skills with the ability to prioritize competing demands.

Strategic Thinking Ability to develop roadmaps for simplification and process optimization.

Innovative mindset to evaluate emerging tools and technologies.

Soft Skills Strong interpersonal and communication skills to collaborate effectively with business units, technical teams, and vendors.

Problem-solving ability with a proactive approach to tackling challenges.

Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.

Candidate is required to create detailed documentation to ensure clarity, transparency, and consistency across the application landscape.

Qualifications & Experience Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field.

3+ years of experience in application management, with a focus on SaaS solutions.

Demonstrated experience with NetSuite, Salesforce and Celigo (preferred).

Strong understanding of integrations, cost optimization, and application lifecycle management.

Experience with access control models and security frameworks for applications.
