RINA is currently recruiting for an IT Network & Communication Specialist to join its office in Genoa or Rome (Italy) within the Global IT Operations Division.
Mission The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing, maintaining, and optimizing the organization's network infrastructure and telecommunication systems. This role ensures seamless connectivity, reliable communication services, and secure data transmission, supporting both internal and external stakeholders. The ideal candidate will work closely with the IT team, vendors, and other departments to resolve network and telecommunication issues, enhance system performance, and implement new technologies.
Key Accountabilities Network Implementation and Maintenance:
- Install, configure, and maintain network hardware and software, including routers, switches, firewalls, and other network devices.
- Conduct regular network performance monitoring and optimization.
Telecommunication Systems Management:
- Implement and support telecommunication systems, including video conferencing solutions.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to telecommunications systems.
Incident Management:
- Provide Level II support for network and telecommunication-related incidents.
- Collaborate with the IT support team to resolve complex issues and escalations.
- Document incident resolutions and update knowledge base articles.
Security and Compliance:
- Ensure network security by implementing and maintaining security measures in compliance with IT Security policies.
- Regularly review and update network configurations to adhere to security standards.
Network Architecture Support:
- Assist in the design and implementation of network architecture projects.
- Provide input on network expansion and upgrades to improve performance and reliability.
Monitoring and Reporting:
- Monitor network and telecommunication systems to detect and address potential issues proactively.
- Generate and analyze reports on network performance, uptime, and other relevant metrics.
Collaboration and Communication:
- Work under the supervision of the IT Network & Communication Manager to align with strategic objectives and priorities.
- Communicate effectively with stakeholders, providing updates on network status and ongoing projects.
Documentation and Training:
- Maintain detailed documentation of network configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps.
- Provide training and guidance to other IT staff on network and telecommunication systems.
Education Bachelor's Degree in Information Systems or Computer Science
Master's Degree
Qualifications From 3 to 5 years of experience in network and telecommunications support.
Proficiency in network hardware and software, including Cisco Catalyst 9k, Nexus.
Strong understanding of network protocols/routing protocols (e. g. , TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, BGP).
Experience with network security practices and tools (e. g. Cisco ISE with Dot1X authentication, LAN, WiFi, TACACS management, Guest portal).
Experience with network monitoring tools (e. g. PRTG, Cisco Prime Infrastructure).
Experience with integration with third-party Session Border Controller and MS Teams as UCC solution.
Proficiency with wireless network based on Cisco Unified Wireless Network.
Experience with LAN and WAN technologies also Software Defined.
Experience with Cloud Networking Services provided by MS Azure and OCI.
Italian and English C1 or higher.
