It Specialist (Network)
Duties**:
- Ensure monitoring and notification services are used on all mission essential network systems defined by Management.
- Analyze network administration Standard Operating Procedures (SOPS) on a continuing basis to ensure compliance with established polices and regulations
- Ensure all IT network systems security requirements related to physical, personnel and information security are accomplished.
- Analyze operating system relationships to resolve issues related to network administration.
- Provide recommendations to respond to security incidents to including contacting users, notify management and security personnel, conducting investigation interviews, and documenting investigation findings.
- Evaluate proposed test plans to assure thorough assessment of elements or operations that may be unique or of special priority.
- Oversee the daily operation and performance monitoring of network systems relating to voice, wireless, firewalls, IP based video distribution and streaming, and data communications.

- This position requires a Tier 1 (T1) investigation with Childcare Checks since its duties require interaction with children and youth under the age of eighteen (18) years of age.

- Individuals hired from the Continental United States (CONUS) and their family members (who are US citizens) are required to obtain Official Passports prior to departure to the overseas area.

Applicants must possess IAT Level 3 within six months of date of hire.
- This position is designated Critical Sensitive (Top Secret), requires a Tier 5 investigation favorably adjudicated and requires a drug testing.

**Specialized and Other Experience**:One year of specialized experience which includes troubleshooting information technology systems, ensuring information technology system security requirements are maintained, and coordinating the implementation of new or improved hardware or software systems.
This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11).
**The specialized experience must include**, or be supplemented by, information technology related experience (paid or unpaid experience and/or completion of specific, intensive training, as appropriate) which demonstrates each of the four competencies, as defined:

Examples of IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: completing thorough and accurate work independently, even in the most difficult or stressful situations; occasionally reviewing work completed by others.
