Italy Compounds & Material
We are looking for a R&D Compounds & Materials Engineering Manager for Italy to join the Regional R&D Material team.
In this Role your main responsibilities will be:
- identify, develop, characterizes and qualifies new materials in order to be able to:
- propose innovative solutions on the market
- improve currents products in terms of cost reduction (DTC) and increase products reliability
- assure fully availability and cost constraints of the raw material for the supply chain
- assure the role of material expert for all the questions that can arise from internal (R&D Commercial manufacturing, QHSE) or external (customers)
- guarantee the management of raw materials and compound necessary for cables production, also in terms of availability on the market and price
- ensure efficient assistance to R&D Italy team (including final customers' requests), Supply chain department, production and QHSE departments of the Italian plants
- ensure the monitoring and constant improvement of the manufacturing processes of the compounds and their formulation guarantee the durability of the materials and compounds
- complete documentation management of the materials (for example Product specification, technical specification, material safety data sheet, internal specification, REACH and RoHS compliance.
- management of activities of Laboratories in Italy (mechanical, fire) which will allows official cable trials report for official qualification, costumers witness.
- laboratory certification following qualities procedures IMQ.
Your knowledge and background:
- Master's Degree in, Chemical, Materials Engineering, Chemical Engineering or similar majors;
- Previous experience (around 5 years) in similar roles
- Expert in Rubbers and Plastics formulation and compounding.

- Effective leadership and communications skills, projecting competence and credibility.
- Ability to work independently, within complex matrix organizations, and to handle pressure at times.
- Ability to understand and define priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Fan of teamwork approach.
- Curious and willing to challenge the status quo and be an innovator.
- Experience of working in an evolving environment, involving new systems, new processes and mindset for cultural diversity.
- Fluent in Italian and English, both spoken and written
- Availability to travel within Italy around 30% of the time.
