Itl Planner
Position Summary**:Reporting to the Regional Purchasing Manager, the Production Planner is responsible for determining production priorities and setting the production schedule to support customer requirements, monitoring kanbans/blanket orders, and purchasing related materials.
**Primary/Essential Responsibilities**:
- Develop production plans and set production schedules in support of customer delivery requirements and manufacturing capacity
- Collaborate with manufacturing to manage capacity constraints, with engineering on new item introduction processes and with buyers for the correct supply demand planning
- Generate and release accurate production orders in ERP system based on customer required date
- Propose and ensure the use of available materials to reduce the inventory and the obsolescence
- Communicate to engineering any improvement to the BOM through an Engineering Change Request and assure to close the loop
- Monitor the WIP and ensure timely completion of production work orders and correct fulfilment in ERP system
- Release and expedite purchase order against established "blanket" or "kanban" orders in the ERP system; collaborate with the buyer/senior buyer on the transition of expiring blankets and agreements.
- Propose improvement ideas on the number and management of the Kanban materials
- In agreement with the Purchasing Manager, develop and execute improvements to focus on inventory reduction and elimination of material shortages
- Gather and report established metrics related to own activities/responsibilities to guarantee the monitoring and improvement of related KPI
- Regular interactions with functional department staff heads and other internal stakeholders, as well as external relationships with suppliers, customers and other G&W employees as required
- Consults with manager when making decisions regarding complex or unusual circumstances
- All other duties as required
**Minimum Qualifications**:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, Operations Management, Supply Chain or related field
- Working knowledge of ERP systems required, X3, JDE Oracle preferred
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a production planning role within a make to order/engineered to order manufacturing environment
- Excellent computer skills, including advanced skills in MS Excel, Word, Access, Project, etc.
- Ability to multi-task under pressure in a high-paced environment
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Strong communication and presentation skills, both verbal and written English
- Results-oriented, self-motivated individual with a sense of initiative
- Ability to work independently and as a team player while solving problems and multitasking in a deadline-driven environment
- Ability to independently identify and develop solutions to problems that may arise in the course of work
- Ability to respond effectively to inquiries or comments from internal clients
**Preferred Qualifications**:
- Capable of working on concurrent projects or supporting portions of larger, more complex projects following established guidelines
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing tools and principles
- Working knowledge of manufacturing systems
