In Italy, Janssen is currently looking for a **National and Regional Institutional Affairs Director **who will be responsible for the effective interaction with government institutions, trade associations, academic associations and other relevant partners to shape policies and legislation relevant to the Company's business in Italy.
He / She will drive institutional affairs engagement in Italy and will be in charge of driving excellence and capabilities in public affairs in different Regions with continuous focus on professional development of Patient Access Advisors and through institutional communication with Government, Parliament, Ministry of Health, National Health Authorities, Scientific Societies, Patient Organizations and Civic Defenders.
He / she will also be responsible for the Public Affairs corporate project, Public Affairs plan alignment with headquarter and Public affairs budget management.
The National and Regional Affairs Director is a member of the Janssen Italy Management Board and other relevant National and Regional committees' networks within scope of responsibility.
**Among the duties**:
Management Board
- Responsible for total company management and performance
- Active participation in board meetings and leadership of cross-company projects
People management
- Conduct annual performance reviews with direct reports to help support the creation of a diverse, high performing Italy National & Regional Institutional Affairs organization
- Ensure Credo Values are demonstrated in the day-to-day interactions of all reporting functions.
- Share best practices in terms of processes, deliverables and approaches (where possible)
- Select, develop and retain the best talents for the organization
Company representation
- Represent the Company at the table of government-led initiatives and contacts/influences government officials/advocacy groups/industry associations/ academic bodies, etc.
- Builds a sustainable image, dialogue and relationship with identified partners as well as engages business leaders as an integral component of influencing the external environment
- Mapping of partners, stakeholder management, alliance building and lobbying are part of the role responsibilities
- Involvement with trade associations is also part of this role to ensure that JnJ business interests are taken into consideration
- Ensures to conduct duties in compliance with all applicable laws and international directives and according to generally accepted standards
- Monitoring external environment and communicating key issues affecting the organization to the relevant people within
- Organization of delegation visits, receptions, meetings etc.
as well as control of budgetary expenditure are also included into the role's responsibilities
- Provides insights to the business and contributing towards the formulation of business strategies as well as policies and strategies of Government Affairs and Policy both nationally and internationally
**Qualifications
Requirements**:
- Required Minimum Education: University degree is required, a Master's degree or PhD is an additional asset, as well as a Master's degree in Public Affairs will be considered a _nice to have_
- Professional experience or studies in the field of communication will be considered a _nice to have_
- Required Years of Related Experience: at least 10-15 years of experience in healthcare industry e. g.
Pharmaceuticals, Medical Devices or other relatable relevant sectors with a minimum of 7 years of working experience within Public Affairs in a complex business environment preferably in multinational companies or consulting firms in healthcare
- Minimum 2 years of experience as a people manager
- Good knowledge of English language and fluency in Italian (mandatory requirement)
**Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities**:
- People management experience, passionate about recruiting and developing the best talents for the organization
- Conceptual skills, e. g.
helicopter view and able to connect the dots.
Able to zoom in and out when necessary
- Excellent understanding of the health care system, structure and market dynamics in the Italy now and in the future
- Excellent GA/Regional Market Access skills, channel and sales knowledge in its broadest sense wit
