Job Developer (Full-Time) (Venice, Ca)
Reporting to the Clinical Manager, the Job Developer will work individually and in groups with program participants, assisting them to identify and attain vocational training opportunities or employment goals.
The Job Developer provides counseling and other employability services to the participants.
Assists participants in analyzing and evaluating their employment, assets, and aptitudes; provides information to participants on occupational opportunities, job requirements, training and rehabilitation resources; assists participants in formulating plans to achieve occupational goals and refers them to appropriate employers, training and educational facilities or other community agencies and organizations. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESAssess participants to determine employment, training and Career Technical Education (CTE) needs and coordinate with Program Director and other assigned staff. Provide employment services, including resume writing, mock interviews, time management, how to get along with others in a work environment, and how to follow instructions. Conduct pre-employment Holland SDS Tests to clients to evaluate their career potential and skills. Help participants understand their own strengths, weaknesses, assets and aptitudes and connect those into tangible occupational opportunities. Assist participants in locating and securing employment or CTE training. Initiates and maintains personal contacts with business and industry representatives in the community. Collects and track job placement data; compiles data and prepares reports and correspondence regarding job development and placement efforts. Submits timely documentation (assessments, notes to chart) as outlined in policy. Promotes clear communication amongst a care team and treating clinicians by ensuring awareness regarding patient care plans. Responsible for dealing competently and courteously with external partners and customers (federal, state, agency, and local government officials) Board Members, volunteers, prospects, donors, clients, and other Phoenix House staff. Develops positive workplace relationships in accordance with Phoenix House Policy and Procedures with staff and peers by offering appropriate support within a nurturing environment while maintaining a high level of professionalism.
Oversee and ensure a client-centered approach to service delivery and program operations region-wide. Attends and participates in program and all staff meetings as directed. Attend all required staff training sessions in accordance with Phoenix House and state licensing requirements. Adhere to and promote the Phoenix House mission and values.
Act as a role model to others. Adhere to the professional ethics and conduct of standards as established by professional licensure and PH policies. Other duties as assigned. EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/CREDENTIALSA high school diploma or its equivalent and a minimum of two (2) years experience working as a Job Developer or similar position. Shall have a basic knowledge on how to mentor the client in disclosing appropriate information regarding past convictions and/or parole status to the employer. Shall have a basic knowledge of the expungement process, the benefits of completing the process, and/or the ability to provide information or a referral on how to expunge a criminal record, or obtain a Certificate of Rehabilitation. Must maintain a valid California Drivers License, have proof of automobile insurance and maintain a safe driving record based on Phoenix House policy.
