We're looking for a passionate Junior AI Scientist to join the Translated team in our HQ in Pi Campus, Rome. Our team is developing the next-generation Machine Translation System, with the ambitious goal of reaching the singularity that we define as the quality of the top-1% professional translator and making it available to millions of people worldwide.

What You'll DoProduct-driven research: apply the latest research to improve the quality of our Machine Translation solution and make an impact on our latest product. Manage the project lifecycle autonomously, from planning to deployment, with guidance from senior team members. Utilize an HPC cluster for scalable, multi-node training tasks to accelerate model development. Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of product owners, designers, developers and system administrators. Participate in continuous learning opportunities to stay ahead in the fast-evolving field of AI and Machine Translation. Qualifications RequiredMaster's degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, or a related field. Proficiency in Python, while Java is a plus. Experience with Deep Learning frameworks and libraries such as: PyTorch, transformers, DeepSpeed/FSDP. Some hands-on experience with Large Language Models finetuning. Proactive, self-driven and enjoys solving complex problems, not just in the primary area of responsibility but across boundaries. Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the capacity to convey technical concepts to non-expert audiences. Ability to iterate quickly and make decisions based on results and data analytics. Additional Preferred Qualifications:PhD or 3+ years industry/equivalent research experience. Experience with distributed multi-node training. Experience with job scheduling and workload management systems, particularly Slurm.
