Select how often (in days) to receive an alert: Junior Biodiversity Ecosystem Consultant Posting Date: 18 Oct 2024 City: Genova Location: Genova, IT, 16129 Contract Type: Fixed-Term Division: Energy Engineering Solutions Level of experience: Junior RINA is currently recruiting for a Junior Biodiversity Ecosystem Consultant to join its office in Genoa, Italywithin the Energy Engineering Solutions Division. Mission The selected candidate will join the biodiversity and ecosystem services team, working on national and international projects for biodiversity related tasks.
In particular, as Junior Biodiversity Consultant, the selected candidate will support the Team in assessment and management of biodiversity impacts associated with energy, industry and infrastructure projects.
Under the guidance of senior staff, they assist in identifying, evaluating, and implementing strategies to mitigate these impacts, as well as ensuring projects comply with biodiversity performance standards.
This role provides valuable hands-on experience and professional development opportunities in the field of environmental engineering and biodiversity conservation.
Job Responsibilities The selected candidate will support the Team both for desk-top tasks and field tasks, preparing reports or parts of reports and taking part in site visits both in Italy and abroad, both onshore and offshore.
They will work jointly with other colleagues in the Environmental Engineering department for multidisciplinary projects.
Typical deliverables will be: habitat/critical habitat assessment, biodiversity baseline, biodiversity action plans, assessment/gap analysis of international biodiversity standards.
Education Master's Degree in Environmental Science or Natural Science Qualifications Having at least a brief working experience in similar roles will be considered as a plus Familiarity with National EU environmental/biodiversity regulation/directives and international (IFC/WB, EBRD etc. )
standards Knowledge of biodiversity conservation principles, ecological systems, and environmental regulations, with a strong interest in applying this knowledge to industrial projects.
Familiarity with GIS tools Familiarity with other environmental modelling and monitoring tools will be considered as an advantage Fluency in Italian English (both spoken and written) Availability for medium and long term missions in Italy and abroad Willingness to learn and develop technical skills.
