**The Role
The Junior HRBP will be part of the local People team and will have a special focus for all people related matters for the Hop team - the Deliveroo's speedy grocery delivery service - including but not limited to recruitment, training, career development, day-to-day support on employee relations and disciplinary matters, and creating a positive culture and working environment.
The team behind Deliveroo Hop is building a network of stores across Italy and the Junior HRBP is going to have a specific focus on site roles management - this will involve occasionally travels to our Italy based locations in order to ensure our employees feel supported and to ensure we have our finger on the employee pulse.
We need an ambitious people practitioner who can hit the ground running; a self-starter who is comfortable in creating and implementing scalable procedures from scratch, and who would revel in the opportunity to make a significant mark on the business.
You need to be comfortable with designing HR strategy and plans and execute them hands-on.
You'll have the chance to focus on HR retails topics but - being part of the Italian People team - you'll also have the opportunity to be involved in many other HR projects for the Deliveroo core business unit.
**The Junior HRBP is accountable for**:
- Supporting with the development of the operating model for Hop People Operations in Italy
- Providing day-to-day support and direction on all People topics (e. g.
employee relations and disciplinary issues that required additional support)
- Partnering with site management to proactively identify HR gaps and implement / deliver solutions to address them
- Proactively addressing people issues arising, including but not limited to supporting the business with performance issues
- Responsible for providing administrative people support to warehouse workers on common people issues and questions e. g.
maternity leave, reporting line changes, sickness absence
- Proactively partnering with site management on workforce planning and recruitment processes
- Partnering with external providers of recruitment services
- Ensure compliance to all relevant labour laws and manage ERs
- Partner with HQ People team to ensure site employees views are represented and central Deliveroo wide processes being developed are fit for purpose for site based team
- Supervise the HOP payroll process and partner with the ICP to run the process smoothly
- Creating and updating - partnering with our central COEs - HR policies and SOPs and guarantee they're properly shared with all site based employees
**Requirements**:
- 4+ years of professional experience as an HR Generalist
- Significant experience in a fast-paced retail/distribution or manufacturing environment
- Proven ability to successfully tailor and implement people programs, including performance review processes, talent development programs, and HR policies and practices
- Track record of excellent influence and stakeholder management skills across organizational levels and non-technical and technical teams alike
- Takes initiative, acts with confidence and works under their own direction; is able to manage energy effectively and consistently deliver under predictable and high-pressure situations alike
- Expertise in mentoring and developing talent to rapidly achieve growth goals
- Friendly and approachable communication style
- Fluent English
- Flexible to travel from time to time
- Confident to operate in a fast-moving, entrepreneurial environment and handle multiple priorities
