The Opportunity Catalina Marketing Italia is searching for a Junior Operations and IT Specialist for our offices in Milan (Romolo Area). The Junior Operations and IT Specialist plays a key contributor in maintaining the stability and efficiency of IT systems across retail locations and corporate offices under the guidance of senior colleagues. This position acts as the bridge between vendors, call center teams, and internal IT functions to resolve complex technical issues and ensure seamless operations. The role requires hands-on support, vendor coordination, and troubleshooting expertise, particularly in network infrastructure, server management, and hardware maintenance. This opportunity is ideal for a young professional with a solid foundation in IT and operations who is eager to develop their skills in the following areas: Maintain operational network systems by monitoring and resolving LAN/WAN, Wi-Fi, firewall, and VPN issues to ensure seamless store and office connectivity. Monitor activities delivered by vendors to ensure in-store PCs, Catalina servers, and printers remain fully operational, minimizing downtime and service disruptions. Coordinate between the Italy-based call center and field service vendors to resolve escalated IT issues efficiently. Respond to internal IT support requests, resolving PC crashes, display issues, printer malfunctions, and new hire setups to maintain business continuity. Provide hands-on support for routers, firewalls, cabling, mobile phones, TVs, projectors, and other IT equipment to maintain operational efficiency. Track and resolve IT issues for both external and internal clients across various global ticketing systems and complexity levels, including L1 and L2 tickets. Collaborate with global support teams in the US and France to address technical issues, requiring clear communication in both Italian and English to ensure timely resolutions. Expand technical expertise in networking, Windows/Linux servers, cybersecurity, and cloud computing to become a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for vendors and internal teams. Qualifications University Degree (Laurea Breve) in Computer Science or related fields, a High School Diploma in Computer Science or related fields, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience). 1-2 years of experience, including internships, in IT support, network administration, or system troubleshooting. English knowledge to liaise with international team in written and verbal communication (B1 level desired as a minimum). Basic networking knowledge, including LAN/WAN, Wi-Fi, firewalls, and VPNs. Familiarity with Windows and Linux server environments, including basic administration, log analysis, and remote troubleshooting using tools like Putty. Hands-on experience supporting IT hardware such as PCs, printers, routers, firewalls, cabling, and mobile devices in an enterprise or retail setting. Familiarity with major operating systems (Windows, macOS) and productivity suites (e. g. , Microsoft Office, Google Workspace). Basic understanding of cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud. Understanding of backup, recovery, and data archiving processes. Basic cybersecurity knowledge (e. g. , antivirus management, protection against phishing and ransomware). Ability to coordinate with vendors, field service teams, and international support teams (US, Italy, and France) to resolve technical problems efficiently. Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to identify patterns in IT issues and implement proactive solutions. Customer service mindset, with the ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly to non-technical users. Self-motivated and able to work independently, demonstrating initiative in troubleshooting and improving IT processes. Ability to adapt in a fast-paced environment, manage multiple tasks, prioritize support requests, and effectively balance operational responsibilities. Total Rewards & Compensation Fixed Term Contract (12 months), aiming to stabilize the contract. Working week Monday-Friday. Approximately 1 weekend/month of required availability. Remote Work 2 days/week after onboarding and due training period. Extensive on-the-job training delivered by our Senior IT&OPs team members. Continuous Learning & Development.
