As a Junior R&D Mechanical Design Engineer, you will contribute to regional ETO Engineering activities.

What will you do in our team?

You will work in a multi-disciplinary engineering team on "engineered to order" (ETO) projects for Chiller units.

You will design ETO solutions with a focus on the mechanical aspects (mainly sheet metal and piping), collaborating with suppliers, Procurement and Industrial Engineering, being aware of the necessary product marketing inputs.

You will create and review product documentation (CAD drawings, specifications, bills of material).

You will meet objectives of cost, quality, environment and time of execution, achieving the best trade-off between market and internal customer needs.

You will analyze and resolve technical problems as regards products under your responsibility; improving, updating, reviewing the mechanical drawings according to the information from the Production, Procurement and Logistics departments, so as to simplify the assembly, reducing the costs and improving the quality.

What will make you successful?

Technical Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering; 1 year of previous working experience on similar activities, ideally in Chiller or CRAC and HVAC (Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning) sectors; Good knowledge of light structural work processing is preferable; Knowledge of refrigeration principles would be an advantage; Knowledge of thermodynamics aspects would be an advantage but is not essential; Good knowledge of 3D/2D CAD & PLM systems, Microsoft Office tools, particularly PTC Creo and Solid Edge.

Knowledge of the management computer systems; Knowledge of technical drawings; English – Intermediate level; The successful candidate will embrace Vertiv's Core Principles & Behaviors to help execute our Strategic Priorities.
