Position Overview

Responsibilities

- Interpret potential field data, including gravity and magnetic data, to derive structural lineaments and model the density and/or susceptibility distribution of subsurface structures.

- Perform geological validation of resistivity models derived from electromagnetic (EM) data, ensuring their accuracy and reliability, and integrate them with other available geological data and information to enhance the understanding of subsurface.

- Assess the geological plausibility of subsurface models and evaluate the quality and accuracy of seismic imaging products, ensuring they align with geological observations and interpretations.

- Conduct mapping of fault networksand deformation zones using various geoscientific tools and software to support subsurface characterization.

- Collaborate with geophysicists, geoscientists, and other stakeholders to integrate structural geology interpretations into the overall subsurface modeling process for basin to prospect studies.

- Analyze seismic data, well logs, and other relevant datasets to build a comprehensive understanding of the study area to support exploration activities.

- Provide geological expertise and recommendations to guide drilling and exploration activities, ensuring they are consistent with the geological plausibility of subsurface models.

- Contribute to the assessment of exploration potential, risk evaluation, and development of exploration strategies for various energy projects, including geothermal and gold hydrogen.

- Stay updated with the latest advancements and best practices in structural geology, incorporating new techniques and technologies to enhance interpretation capabilities.

- Contribute to technical reports, presentations, and other documentation to effectively communicate findings, interpretations, and recommendations to internal teams and external stakeholders.

Requirements

- A minimum of 3 years of professional experience as a Structural Geologist, preferably in the energy industry, with exposure to different geological settings.

- Master's degree in Geology, Geological Sciences, or a related field, with strong focus on Structural Geology.

- Creativity in interpreting and providing context to results.

- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to integrate geological interpretations into larger subsurface models.

- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and present findings to stakeholders.

- Self-motivated, proactive, and capable of working independently as well as in a team-oriented environment.

- Capable of managing multiple projects concurrently, involving diverse geological contexts and locations, demonstrating effective time management and prioritization skills, with flexibility to adapt to changing project priorities and deadlines.

- Possess a flexible mindset, readily adapting to learn and utilize new tools.
