**Performance Achievements & Key Competence Requirements**:

- Analyze and interpret experimental results effectively to contribute to the development of new and improved product platforms.

- Work closely with regional labs to understand their needs and how to incorporate these needs into new product platforms.

- Work in conjunction with R&D and/or other functions located around the globe on the development of new product platforms.

- Maintain project information up to date in Compass and ensure timelines are realistic and adhered to.

- Develop new test methods that will help to accelerate the assessment of new coatings and simulate customer line conditions to increase the speed and success rate of product launches.

- Initiate and foster scientific exchange with technical associates around the globe.

- Maintain and communicate results through written and verbal summaries, coatings reports and gate review updates.

- Work safely, following all lab procedures and contribute to the maintenance of high safety standards.

- Work with manufacturing, stewardship quality and technical management to maintain the current formulation portfolio.

**Requires**:

- Possible coating industry experience

- PhD or M. S.

degree in chemistry, chemical engineering, material science and engineering.

- Ability to work independently and as a part of a team; ability to work and communicate effectively with colleagues around the globe.

- Demonstrated history of innovative thinking, generating and presenting new concepts.

- Ability to manage complex technical projects with multiple stakeholders

- Relevant experience with experimental design (DOE)

- Demonstrated ability to influence and motivate other associates.

- English: Full professional proficiency

- Ability to travel up to 10%.
