We are actively seeking aLaboratory Control Engineerto join our dynamic team inTognana, Italy!
What kind of work will you be doing?
Supporting development of control logic of Vertiv HVAC products and their components such as centrifugal compressors and water-cooled chillers.
Processing and analyzing laboratory test data for improvement of unit logic.
Validating HVAC components, system models, and hardware architecture with laboratory test data.
Establishing methodologies and equipment for logic validation and characterization of components and systems.
Conducting testing under various use conditions to determine if they meet customer/field expectations.
Project documentation and progress presentation to senior management.
Selecting the proper hardware for testing purposes.
Providing technical support for existing products and prototypes.
Working in a multi-disciplinary engineering team on global products focusing on high performance, cost-effective design, and market-leading innovation.
Analyzing and resolving technical problems.
Being self-sufficient and able to organize own work and make budgeted plans for timely delivery of performance program releases.
Supporting service and training Service Tech Support on developed products and technologies.
Collaborating with lab technicians to validate unit control logic, implement changes, and assess enhancements.
Partnering with the R&D team to conceptualize new platforms and advanced technologies, coordinating with ATC teams on innovative control algorithms.
What will make you successful?
Strong innovation capabilities and willingness to listen openly to other ideas.
Theoretical and practical knowledge of Power Electronics, Telecommunication theory, Automation, Electronic Instrumentation, and programming languages (Java, C, C#, …).
Knowledge and experience of measuring methods and tools.
Experience in HVAC or cooling product design (or similar).
University bachelor's degree in Electronic Engineering or similar.
Enthusiastic, imaginative, and intelligent.
What are the minimum qualifications?
Minimum 3 years of experience with commercial/industrial HVAC products and components.
Basic knowledge of Thermodynamics and Fluid Mechanics.
Basic programming knowledge.
Problem-solving skills.
Teamwork: naturally inclined to work in a team.
Ethernet protocol connection (network switch management).
Office software literate, including MS Excel.
Nice to have: Fluent in speaking, reading, and writing in Italian and English.
Good knowledge of IT Cooling products.
Understanding of European/worldwide regulation requirements in the HVAC Industry.
Worker Safety Training (Training dedicated for high-risk works; Training CEI).
