**THE ROLE
The work consists of integrating the various sensors, end effectors/grippers, subsystems into a mobile robot with and without arm that can perform outdoor tasks and interact with the environment, e. g. , with plants in an agricultural field, objects on the ground such as trash, etc.
A first phase of design, developing and testing in the laboratory environment will be followed by a series of field trials and deployment in realistic scenarios.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design of custom-made end effectors
- System integration of commercial robotic arms, mobile platforms and customized mechatronics tools, as well as newly developed sensors
- System testing and validation
- Organization and support to both laboratory testing and on-field testing of the developed technologies
**ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS
- Master degree in engineering, robotics and related fileds.
- Proven experience in mechatronics, robotic, automation.
- Basic knowledge of CAD design, fast prototyping.
- Basic knowledge in electronics and electrical systems.
- Expertise in system integration with ROS/ROS2, C/C++, python or other programming languages.
- Strong experimental skills and experience with field trials.
- Experience in lab management and maintaining.
- Previous collaboration with industrial partners is highly appreciated.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
