The candidate will become part of the NX Engineering District of Catania having the opportunity to work on innovative and novel technologies to fully enable the energy transition.

The Layout & Piping Materials & Piping Classes Senior Engineer will be in charge of reviewing and developing internal guidelines, recommendations, and specifications for the detail engineering and Material Selection for plants based on NextChem technologies for the Energy transition.

He/She will support the Engineering team in developing the Material Selection Philosophy and Piping Classes at different levels of detail required for the Feasibility Study, Basic Design, or Front End Engineering Design.

He/She will also support specialists in reviewing specifications, material requisition, technical bid evaluation, and vendor follow-up for special piping materials.

The specialist will have a high degree of autonomy to investigate with vendors the most suitable materials for specific technologies in terms of piping lifecycle, safety, supply, and construction costs.

The Technology Piping Class Specialist reports to the Head of the Engineering Department for all activities not directly related to a project.

Key Activities & Responsibilities: Support material selection for NextChem plants considering the correct plant lifecycle, maintenance, safety guidelines, and product specifications;Support the Technological team for the preparation of P&ID, Fluid Lists, and Line List;Develop new and specific Piping Classes based on Client or Technology/Licensor provider recommendations;Monitor and support specialists of external Engineering Executive Companies for the execution of assigned engineering activities;Provide support to Detail Engineering Companies for the purchase of Special Piping Material during the EPC Phase;Participate in technical meetings with Vendors of Special Piping Material to evaluate new engineering and construction standards and materials;Assist the Head of Department in ensuring the application and continuous update of department and Company standards, procedures, and work instructions. Personal Attributes: Minimum 5 years of experience in Plant material selection activities;First level degree in a technical discipline;Coordination of Piping Design team;Knowledge in Piping Classes definition;Fluent English speaker and writer;Availability to travel for short periods in Italy and abroad.
