The Role and What You'll Do:
We are seeking a highly experienced and qualified Lead Cluster Technology Manager, for the City venue clusters near Milan, Italy, with extensive experience in managing technology for large-scale events.
The on-site technology management team will play a crucial role in the successful execution of the Official Hospitality Program for the Olympic and Paralympic Games in Milano-Cortina, Italy.
This role will be responsible for recruiting, directing, managing, supervising, and coordinating all activities of the Onsite Technology Functional Area.
This includes hiring technical and personnel to design, configure, and implement hardware and software systems, in addition to procurement of computer hardware/software operating systems.
This position reports to the VP of Business Technology.
- Manage the technology and IT infrastructure for all events, including planning, implementation, and operations.
- Act as the main technical liaison between Milano Cortina 2026's functional areas and our internal functional areas such as Venue Technology, Event Production, Security, Custom Groups, Program Management, and Workforce.
- Hire, cultivate and manage Radio, Inventory, Cluster, and Venue Technology managers to be the primary point of contact for our internal and external clients throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring timely communication and coordination of all necessary parties.
- Develop and manage a team of technology professionals to ensure all technology-related activities are performed effectively and efficiently for all on-site and off-site venues.
- Work closely with each Functional Area of the project to ensure each FA's technology needs are collected and presented to our corporate technology teams for assessment, procurement, allocation, and management in accordance with On Location's corporate technology standards and policies.
- Work with our corporate procurement and technology teams to identify vendors for equipment needs and negotiate contracts if necessary.
- Develop and maintain relationships with technology vendors and service providers to ensure timely delivery of technology solutions and services.
- Manage the overall budget for technology-related expenses and ensure that all expenditures are within budgetary constraints for the Hospitality Program of the Milano Cortina 2026 Olympic and Paralympic Games.
- Work with our Finance and Accounting teams to submit, track, and reconcile vendor expenses.
- Ensure that all technology-related activities comply with EU regulatory requirements and industry standards.
- Develop and implement disaster recovery plans for all technology-related systems to ensure business continuity for all on-site and off-site venues during Games time.
- Identify and evaluate emerging technologies that can enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of technology-related activities.
- Assist in designing and managing On Location's Technology Command Center, in coordination with the OL Hospitality Command Center and the OCOG's Technology Operations Center.
You have these:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or related field.
- 10+ years of experience in technology management, project management, and/or business operations with a strong knowledge of current and emerging technologies, including networking, software, and hardware platforms, preferably in the ticketing, travel or hospitality industry.
