**About the role

The Data Appeal Company are looking for an experienced Lead Data Scientist, to lead our Data team.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a growing data science team which is utilizing the latest cloud technologies to deliver outstanding solutions for the business.

**Responsibilities**:

- Create value/insights from Data

- Work closely with business and product to identify new value propositions points.

- Use machine learning and big data tools on large and complex data sets

- Develop machine learning algorithms, as well as traditional statistical models, in order to gather actionable business insights;

- Explain and synthesize sophisticated data patterns and technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences;

- In collaboration with the engineering team, implement data pipelines;

- Support in the definition of Data Strategy

**Requirements**:

- PhD or Master's Degree in statistics, computer science, applied mathematics, or similar;

- Strong Python programming skills and experience with data science libraries (Pandas, Scikit-learn, XGBoos, etc.

);

- Deep understanding of fundamentals of statistics and machine learning (sampling theory, inference and interpretation, model validation, regression and classification techniques, etc.

);

- At least 3 years of working experience in this role, providing advanced analytics to a variety of business situations, managing a team.

- Experience with big data tools (Spark, Presto, etc)

- Spatial data or Location Intelligence industry knowledge skills is a strong plus;

- Experience with cloud resources (AWS in primis), and version control systems (git) are highly valued

- Demonstrated communication and interpersonal skills to work with diverse stakeholders and cross-functional teams

- Flexibility to prioritize deliverables and re-prioritize them at a moment's notice

- Entrepreneurial mindset-you see ambiguity as opportunity and obstacles as chances to build new solution

- Fluency in English is required
