Role Summary/Purpose: The Application Engineer leads projects and initiatives with broad scope and high impact for BH Turbomachinery Solutions at the COE & regional level.
In this role, you will be responsible for major and complex assignments with long-term business implications, manage complex issues within the area of application engineering, and contribute to the overall business strategy.
In the role, you will lead the following activities:
Providing technical expertise to Sales and Commercial Operations in selecting, implementing, and developing solutions for the major BH customers.
Supporting leaders in delivering revenue commitments.
Developing budget & firm offers for New Unit business, focusing on steam turbine & expanders for Oil & Gas, Industrial, and new Energy transition markets.
Specifying knowledge to tailor offered solutions to comply with common international steam turbine standards like API 612 or IEC, including balance of plant and auxiliary systems, to provide competitive proposals for mechanical drive and power generation.
Assessing competitive system performance and hardware evaluation throughout the entire bid process.
Aligning sub-vendor proposals, including Surface condenser, Electric Generator, etc. , according to customer's Requisition and relevant applicable technical specs, guaranteeing quality completeness and time responsiveness.
Participating in Risk Assessment processes, deal strategy reviews, and cost-out activities during proposal preparation, defining the best technical solution.
Supporting bid reviews and proposal clarification meetings.
Performing steam cycle optimization for all the IPG and Energy transition opportunities using dedicated software like Gate Cycle.
Developing and maintaining documentation of processes and information used within the evaluation, analysis, and pricing group to ensure consistency, sharing of information among team members, and training resources.
To be successful in this role you will:
Have a degree from an accredited university or college (or a high school diploma / GED with some experience in Engineering/Technology).
Have good experience in Engineering or Sales Support.
Have the ability to identify specific project criticality, to set the right strategy and direction.
Have prior experience with customer specifications review, proposal development, and contract negotiations is preferred.
Have knowledge of the application and requisition process.
Have knowledge of International standards- API, ASME, etc.
Have prior experience dealing with international customers in engineering, marketing, sales, projects, or customer service positions is preferred.
Act as a contributing member of a team with the correct team-building skills.
Have availability to travel for business purposes worldwide.
