LEAD FIREFIGHTER (BASIC LIFE SUPPORT/HAZARDOUS MATERIALS TEC) 47, 265. 00 USD/yr - 61, 449. 00 USD/yr
Duties: Responsible for planning, organizing, implementing, executing, and evaluating effectiveness of large segments of the overall Fire Protection and Prevention (FP/P) programs and operations.
Perform fire prevention, fire protection, CBRNE, and HAZMAT operations.
Supervise inspections by crew members for fire hazards on installation.
Exercise technical and administrative supervision over firefighting personnel on assigned shifts, in absence of supervisor.
Requirements: One year trial/probationary period may be required.
Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
Male applicants born after December 31, 1959, must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration.

Citizenship.

Position is designated Emergency Essential (E-E); in the event of crisis, disaster, or war, the incumbent must continue to perform assigned duties to support mission requirements until relieved by proper authority.
Position requires the incumbent to pass screening for illegal drug use prior to appointment and subsequent random periodic drug screening thereafter for the duration of employment.
Position requires wear of protective clothing (i. e. , uniform, mask, gloves, etc. ).
Position requires the employee to participate in an assigned physical fitness program and an initial and periodic medical examination is required for continued performance of the arduous and/or hazardous nature of the duties involved.
Position requires the incumbent to work a 24-hour tour of duty, 72-hour workweek, requiring coordination and flexibility in planning training and operations.
Position requires the incumbent to possess, and/or obtain and maintain a U. S. Government Drivers License and a current, valid State motor vehicle operator license.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes performing work with the responsibility for directing the operation of one or two major pieces of firefighting apparatus and a crew of firefighters assigned to a shift engaged in rescue operations to reduce and/or eliminate potential fire hazards, in compliance with health, safety, and environmental rules and procedures.
In addition to meeting the specialized experience requirement above, applicants must also possess certified National Registry Emergency Medical Technician (NREMT) Basic, Firefighter I, Fire Instructor I, Fire Officer I, DoD Hazardous Materials Technician through DoD Fire and Emergency Services Certification System, International Fire Service Accreditation Congress (IFSAC), or the Fire Service Professional Qualifications System (PRO-Board) in accordance with DoD 6055. 06-M.
