As a Lead Manufacturing Engineer CAD - CAM, you will have the possibility of working both on the new product industrialization process (NPI) and on the improvement of legacy processes and products.

Your responsibility will include to work in a team, to spend a lot of time in the shop to observe the processes that generate defective parts and to collect useful information through dialogue with the operators.

Job DescriptionEssential ResponsibilitiesParticipate in the concurrent engineering phase by modeling the solutions with the greatest manufacturability to be proposed to the technical management teamDesign or supervise the development of forming/casting and finishing equipmentManage the SAP portion of acquiring equipment and/or services from external suppliersManage and develop work cycles on SAPChoose the most suitable tools for machining on a 5-axis machining center and establish their path through programming and simulationAnalyze best fist simulation data from polyworks and adapt calibration based on it.

Analyze the production processes currently used and improve them in the event that they produce defective partsCollaborate with production shop floor personnel to validate processes, tools, and equipmentCoordinate with external suppliers, who may be in charge of building production equipment and/or machining operationsPursue continuous improvement for quality and cost reduction in designated areasQualification/RequirementsHigh School DiplomaGood knowledge in interpreting technical drawings/specifications and manufacturing processesModeling capabilities on the Unigraphics NX CAD systemAbility to program cutter paths through the use of Unigraphics NX cam softwareAbility to run cutter path simulations using Vericut softwareAbility to select the most suitable cutting tools for machining aluminum and magnesium castingsExcellent ability to manage technical documentation in the WGM-UG company systemFamiliarity with castings intended for gearboxes for aeronautical useKnowledge of machiningKnowledge of the 3D printing processWork visa in accordance with local regulationsDesired CharacteristicsKnowledge of the basics of Lean ManufacturingBehaviors of humility, transparency and focus on the resultHigh ability to relate to others and work in a teamAbility to make data-driven decisions and knowledge of the Root Cause analysis and Corrective Action implementation processGood knowledge of the English languageWhat we offerSmart working and work life-balance Avio Aero, when possible, promotes remote work and encourages a good, healthy and satisfying work-life balance.
