Role purpose:The Legal Counsel will act as the primary legal advisor for Vodafone Automotive. Key responsibilities:Provide legal advice and support to the VF Automotive business (including privacy, competition, disputes, risk, compliance, and regulatory activities). Review, draft, and negotiate complex customer or strategic contracts and related documents. Advise on product and national regulations where Vodafone Automotive provides its services. Liaise with other specialists around the Group and the Vodafone Group Legal teams. Co-ordinate with legal colleagues in Group and Vodafone Business to ensure that all appropriate compliance frameworks, policies, training, and monitoring are in place. Scope out and manage external advisors for specific support, where appropriate. This role plays a critical part in supporting the company's business operations and risk management to meet the company's commercial and strategic objectives. Key accountabilities:Directly lead a team of 2 lawyers, liaising with members of the Vodafone Group Legal & External Affairs, Local Market Legal & External Affairs teams to co-ordinate support to the global VF Automotive business. Day-to-day responsibility for providing accurate, effective, and timely legal advice, analysis, and support on corporate, commercial, and contractual matters relating to the Vodafone Automotive businesses. Draft and negotiate significant/complex contracts and other legal documents relating to deals with multinational companies, service providers, and carriers arising through the operations of the Vodafone Automotive businesses. Identify areas of risk for Vodafone Automotive in relation to commercial and contractual legal and compliance issues affecting the business and assist in providing solutions to manage the risks. Maintain effective contact with relevant individuals in both Vodafone Automotive and Group Legal key functions, such as Regulatory professionals in the Public Policy teams, Group Technology, Tax, etc. Assist in the development of best practices within Vodafone Automotive regarding the legal aspects of commercial, contractual, and compliance matters. Core competencies, knowledge, and experience:Strong knowledge of local corporate and commercial law, with a deep understanding of the telco regulatory environment. Demonstrated ability to negotiate and draft complex contracts. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to advise senior management effectively. Proficiency in legal research, document management, and using contract management systems. Ability to align legal strategies with corporate objectives and the local regulatory landscape. Must have technical/professional qualifications:Law degree from an accredited institution; advanced degree preferred. Admitted to practice law in the local jurisdiction. 5-7 years of experience in a corporate legal department, ideally within the telco/technology sector. Fluency in English and Italian, both written and spoken.
