The Legal team has been instrumental in supporting the business through its continued expansion.
Headed up by James Hanratty (a Legal leader in Digital & Technology), they have won several industry accolades in recent years including 'In-House Team of the Year' at the Lexis Nexis Legal Awards in 2019.

In this commercially critical role, you'll be focused on providing legal support to help develop the growth of our key Italian and Spanish markets.
The team works cross-functionally with a huge range of innovative consumer facing areas of our business, including our brand, marketing, communications, SEO, PPC and product teams.
As Legal Counsel for Italy and Spain, your role will primarily span all areas of consumer law, e-commerce law, advertising and marketing law, data protection law (including the GDPR) and commercial contracts in those markets.
You'll be responsible for supporting our Italian and Spanish Growth teams across the Marketing eco -system as we invest in big brand campaigns, TV adverts and a range of high profile promotions.
Constant innovation is part of our DNA here it's all about customising app and web functionality to give users a unique, personalised experience.
This was the birth place of our Price Prediction feature developed through machine learning predicting changes in the price of tickets based on billions of data points to empower customers' buying decisions.
You may also have seen our Crowd Alerts widget, an app extension we invented that uses crowdsourcing data to provide travellers with real time information about the train they're on to help them find less crowded areas in a train, particularly to help customers who had to travel during COVID.
To do this, we have built out some ground-breaking teams, like Data Science and Product Insight & Research, and that's where you come in.
You'll have the opportunity to help shape how the Legal team partners with consumer teams across the business as Trainline looks to revolutionise the market.
Working closely with these innovative functions, you'll take the lead on providing practical advice on a range of legal issues around cutting-edge products and initiatives.
You will work closely with innovative product teams, providing guidance and designing processes to ensure that teams are empowered to implement ideas fast while fully understanding and minimising legal and compliance risk.
As well as drafting and negotiating commercial contracts, you will also be responsible for proactively identifying upcoming legislation which may impact the company, working closely with the business to develop commercial and practical strategies.

**Experience
To achieve our ambitious plans, we're looking for creative big thinkers with small egos.
Most importantly, you'll be qualified in Italian law, with experience in private practice and in-house experience, preferably with an online or tech focused business.
It goes without saying that you will have a strong understanding of Italian consumer law, e-commerce law, advertising and marketing law, data protection law as well as in commercial contracts (Spanish legal knowledge is not a requirement of the role).
