Job Duties: Understand the parts and pieces needed in lighting and lighting control Advanced troubleshooting of simple and complex systems Collaborate with project teams to draft projects within the preferred time frame to meet project deadlines Coordinate with Designers to ensure consistency between drawings and specifications.
Maintain sufficient knowledge of architectural materials and construction methods.
Serve as a resource to project teams for materials and product systems selection providing guidance, research, and recommendations regarding suitability and sustainability as necessary throughout all phases of each project Educate and mentor staff on internal and industry standards related to specifications for materials, products, and assemblies commonly used on Design project types Keep abreast of alternative specification writing software programs and recommend technology upgrades when necessary for process improvement.
Prepares detailed specifications without supervision Researches, evaluates and recommends action on use of new material and methods.
Assists staff in selecting proper products or technical information as required Exercises discretion and independent judgment with respect to production specification and product selection for projects undertaken by the office Assists and confers with project architect or project manager in compiling outline specifications Coordinates production of specification with consultants, agencies, and project staff.
Evaluates contractor's quotations for change orders, as requested.
Approval of material qualification in review of substitutions, submittals and shop drawings.
Minimum Job Requirements: 1-3+ Years of Lighting Specification Experience Ability to read and interpret drawings Strong verbal and written communication skills Highly detailed, organized, and multitask driven Excellent skills with desktop and mobile computing Understanding of Lutron Controls Disclaimer: The above statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by individuals assigned to this classification.
