Role Definition This is an Agency Position for a candidate who will support the achievement of Supply Chain targets through the correct management of internal logistics, maintaining the required service standards, in accordance with the corporate procedures.
Responsibilities Contribute to cross-functional projects aimed at enhancing material handling, inventory management, and logistic operations. Develop and implement process improvements to achieve goals in safety, quality, velocity, and cost. Monitor and analyze data and key metrics to identify trends, improve workflows, and resolve inefficiencies. Support improvement solutions for the supply-chain process. Support customer efforts with pricing information and supplier selection. Maintain and support supply chain application systems. Work with master planners on outsourcing needs; establish blanket purchase orders and vendor managed inventory (VMI). Gather data for use in the analysis of business processes. Illustrate problems, opportunities, and methods for improving existing business processes. Suggest ways to reduce variation and/or waste in processes. Help evaluate what factors should be addressed in the change program. Participate in requirements analysis for process changes. Requirements Degree in mechanical engineering/management engineering. Fluent in English, written and spoken. Good communication and interpersonal skills, teamwork, and collaboration. Interest in logistics and Supply Chain processes. Knowledge of Microsoft Office Package. Skill Descriptors Business Process Improvement: Knowledge of business process improvement best practices and ability to use methods for identifying, evaluating, introducing, and implementing more efficient approaches to performing business-related activities.
Level Working Knowledge: Gather data for use in the analysis of business processes. Illustrate problems, opportunities, and methods for improving existing business processes. Suggest ways to reduce variation and/or waste in processes. Help evaluate what factors should be addressed in the change program. Participate in requirements analysis for process changes. Analytical Thinking: Knowledge of techniques and tools that promote effective analysis; ability to determine the root cause of organizational problems and create alternative solutions that resolve these problems.
Level Working Knowledge: Approach a situation or problem by defining the problem or issue and determining its significance. Make a systematic comparison of two or more alternative solutions. Use flow charts, Pareto charts, fish diagrams, etc. , to disclose meaningful data patterns. Identify the major forces, events, and people impacting and impacted by the situation at hand. Use logic and intuition to make inferences about the meaning of the data and arrive at conclusions. Decision Making and Critical Thinking: Knowledge of the decision-making process and associated tools and techniques; ability to accurately analyze situations and reach productive decisions based on informed judgment.
Level Working Knowledge: Apply an assigned technique for critical thinking in a decision-making process. Identify, obtain, and organize relevant data and ideas. Participate in documenting data, ideas, players, stakeholders, and processes. Recognize, clarify, and prioritize concerns. Assist in assessing risks, benefits, and consideration of alternatives. Problem Solving: Knowledge of approaches, tools, techniques for recognizing, anticipating, and resolving organizational, operational, or process problems; ability to apply knowledge of problem solving appropriately to diverse situations.
Level Working Knowledge: Identify and document specific problems and resolution alternatives. Examine a specific problem and understand the perspective of each involved stakeholder. Develop alternative techniques for assessing accuracy and relevance of information. Help to analyze risks and benefits of alternative approaches and obtain decision on resolution. Use fact-finding techniques and diagnostic tools to identify problems. Project Management: Knowledge of effective project management strategies and tactics; ability to plan, organize, monitor, and control projects, ensuring efficient utilization of technical and administrative resources to achieve project objectives.
Level Working Knowledge: Provide input for Gantt or PERT charts or their equivalent to track project progress and status. Under guidance, plan and estimate simple projects. Assist in detailed project plans including cost, schedule, and resource requirements. Obtain information from stakeholders during the planning stage of a project. Produce standard project status reports. Logistics Management: Knowledge of logistics and management; ability to follow proper processes and run operations for effective and efficient movement of materials and finished products.
Level Working Knowledge: Assist in the development of process flows to track lead time by activity. Use tools, with guidance, to forecast delivery times, determine costs and assess performance. Maintain records of all shipments and invoices using an established system. Participate in integrating logistics processes and developing effective networks. Work with logistics in a domestic environment. Procurement: Knowledge of buying and procurement; ability to work with organizational strategies and practices, and use tools for buying goods, supplies, equipment, and services needed to conduct business.
Level Working Knowledge: Work with the procurement of services, materials, or equipment. Follow established procedures, documentation requirements, and approval level requests to conduct procurement activities. Use available procurement systems and tools in transactions with approved suppliers. Supply Chain Management - MFG: Knowledge of functions, principles, and techniques used in supply chain management; ability to develop and use strategies, practices, and tools for controlling the logistical processes.
Level Working Knowledge: Discuss considerations for integrating partner and supplier transactions. Recognize software systems or components used to manage the supply chain. Summarize supply chain considerations for different types of products or components. Participate in supply chain analysis and use it to spot trends and improvement opportunities.
