JOB TITLE: Logistics Cluster Technical Operations Specialist (Medical) TYPE OF CONTRACT: REG CST level II UNIT/DIVISION: SCDLC DUTY STATION: Home Based DURATION: 6 months BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE OF THE ASSIGNMENT: The World Food Programme (WFP) is the United Nations humanitarian agency dedicated to tackling hunger and malnutrition worldwide.

The Logistics Cluster adheres to and promotes the values of collaboration, professionalism, agility, localization, sustainability, and accountability.

FUNCTION PURPOSE: The purpose of this role is to complement, build on, and enact the outcomes of the current Logistics Cluster Medical Logistics Working Group, providing operational guidance and support to ensure Logistics Cluster operations are more able to support the humanitarian response.

ACCOUNTABILITIES/RESPONSIBILITIES: Attend and actively participate in the Logistics Cluster lead Medical Logistics Working Group.

Review coordination, information management, and service provision activities undertaken by Logistics Cluster operations.

Review available SOPs, guidelines, and training materials as they pertain to health supply chain management.

Work with the WFP and Logistics Cluster training teams to provide input on current training activities.

Support the review and development of new Logistics Cluster activities and proposals.

Travel to field operations and emergencies to support Logistics Cluster activities as required.

Advise on other areas of additional work as needed.

DELIVERABLES AT THE END OF THE CONTRACT: Production of a comprehensive toolkit and updated guidance for the humanitarian community to access and manage health supply chain in emergency contexts.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: Education: University degree in logistics, pharmacology, public health, humanitarian development, or related field.

Experience: At least 7 years of professional experience in supply chain and/or logistics operations, with at least 3 years in health supply chain management.

Knowledge & Skills: Essential: Demonstrates understanding of inter-agency requirements and reflects this in operational design and execution.

Languages: Required: Fluency in English.

Desirable: Knowledge of a second official UN language.
